Everyone loves computer games and there’s no denying, they have come a long way since the days of Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog. Now, the graphics are so good you have people living alternative lives in online game worlds. You could wonder how such people survive, spending all of their time in a virtual reality, like who pays the rent?

Actually, you may be surprised to read that the game makers have thought about that too. You can build or create online property within the confines of the game and that includes shops that provide real goods and services to game users.

Yes, you read that correctly, you can own virtual real-estate and sell a virtual can of cola to keep your avatars health up (even virtual people need to eat and drink, right?).

But how does it actually work?

Some games like Second Life have even created their own virtual currency, a bit like Bitcoin, and it can be traded for goods, services and property within the game.

You can also exchange it for real currency offline, so you can improve your gaming experience online. You won’t be shocked to know that even in the virtual world of gaming, the more money you have the more privileged your avatar becomes.

It means better clothing, armour, weapons and in some cases prime not so real-estate. And, just like in the real world, where there is a buck to be made, people queue up with their virtual shovels to dig for that virtual gold. Make no mistake, there are geeks and nerds worldwide that are creaming off the top of this little known phenomena.

You might wonder how people manage their social lives, if they spend all their time in virtual worlds, but it seems that people make virtual connections through game play too.

The games are often multi-player or allow you to join tribes, which are formed by other players and they can talk in real-time via headsets. Some form relationships through their avatars, who marry in the game, and there have even been cases of people meeting in real life to extend those relationships further.

You may find all of this weird. There’s just too many questions: are they so unhappy in their real lives that they create digital alternatives? How do they become intimate if it’s only online?

These questions are too deep for this article, but it’s probably safe to assume that the virtual world of gaming is somewhat devoid of intimacy, but that doesn’t matter because the world of virtuality has carved out a corner of fun for these guys too.

Virtual reality porn and in particular cosplay porn has made it their business to provide the steamiest of encounters in this  alternative world. You can watch your favourite characters from Final Fantasy perform acts of sexual indecency, and even watch it in the third person.

It makes you feel like you’re the lucky chap inheriting the pleasure provided by the sexy model role playing your secret fantasy.

In just a click of a button you can go from playing your favourite game to playing with yourself in your alternative universe and you won’t believe how realistic it is. The videos are in full HD and everything is 3D.

You can even introduce a 4th dimension by including a partner to act out the scene for you. Forget about costumes, the headset will turn anyone you’re looking at into your character of choice. This brings a completely new meaning to the term “multi-player” game.

If you aren’t so fortunate to have a real life partner, don’t fret. There are toys you can buy that sync with the models movements in real time, so not only can you watch your favourite character play dirty, but you can feel it too. What more can you ask for?

Not everyone reading this will be into gaming and those of you that are, probably don’t live in an alternative world, but don’t let that stop you from “playing along”. The world of fantasy is hot and you have so many characters and scenarios to choose from.

Whether Chung Li from Street Fighter is your bag, Pokemon or even Marvel, your animated adventures await. And, for those of you that love fiction, but are not so into animated characters, cosplay has got you covered.

Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, and Princess Leia are but a few of the scenarios waiting for you, so go on, step into the world of virtual reality and get your geek on.
