Video games can be quite addictive and buffs just can’t help but try their prowess on the next big release. Whether it’s the ferocious Call of Duty, Angry Birds on Juegos Friv or a quirky online game like Fruit Ninja on Friv, games do have their charm and winsomeness. There have been some amazing film adaptations that have surfaced over the years and are just as buoyant as the movies themselves. Here’s a list of the top 5 for you to perk up your gaming:
This is a popular franchise amongst gamers based on the Phoenix Wright franchise by Capcom that enjoys a huge fan following. The game boasts some edgy graphics, impeccable writing, brilliant comics, and undeniably cool characters. Set against a legal backdrop, the intriguing scenes between defense attorneys and prosecutors embroiled in a heated debate at an extraordinary court setting sure do tickle your gaming fancy. This has now been transformed into Ace Attorney by Japanese filmmakers roping in screenplay, costume design and court scenes right from the game itself.
While the video game was a roaring success amongst enthusiasts, the movie starring Angelina Jolie as the brazen and fearsome Lara Croft was an instant hit among cinema-goers with profits surging beyond those of Aliens to make it the highest grossing flick with a lady in the leading role.
Fans of this classic franchise were dismayed over the hedged release of the new game in the series, and the fact that the awesome play-worthy teaser game by Konami could not be re-downloaded made it worth sulking over. However, this can be touted as the best game to have been adapted into a movie, as the filmmakers did a wonderful job in converting the spooky screenplay and fulgurous characters from the game and transformed them into an interesting thriller for gamers and flick aficionados alike.
This is probably one of the most successful games adapted to a film with its stellar scenes, breathtaking special effects, and gritty over-the-top action sequences. Starring Ali Larter, almost all the films in the RE series scored big at the BO surging past their R parameter. The game maker Capcom with its Resident Evil 4 and Revelations 2, had actually taken inspirational elements from the movie series and incorporated them into the game for fans to enjoy, which was a portion of their appreciation for the film series.
Mortal Kombat – 1995
The Mortal Kombat movie was a huge success in the 90’s having witnessed other adaptations like Super Mario Bros and Double Dragon blasting at the BO. This one was widely accepted by the audience and appreciated for its impressive action scenes, unforgettable characters, and fantabulous fun-driven screenplay. The flick was known for its gory thrills and enticing special effects, the two elements that helped it win big at the box office. The best thing about the film was that it stayed true to the original theme and plot of the MK game series which is the reason it’s adored by fans all over the world.
