If your interaction with gaming has evolved and reached new heights over the past 18 months, you are not the only one. In the wake of the pandemic, we have become a country of gamers hooked to our sofas and screens.

Gaming became a source of entertainment for many people when we could no longer explore new cities or visit TOP casinos in Australia or Las Vegas.

Not only does it offer an efficient way to spend time, but video games have also allowed us to stay in touch with people we can not see or chat to in real life.

streaming setup

If you want to game, record, and stream like a boss, then you need a good gaming setup for sure.

Now that we are approaching a new season, it means new games. But while we are eagerly waiting for the upcoming game, let’s check out the best new games of 2021. Here is the list of them:

  • Resident Evil Village
  • Hitman 3
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Maquette

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village returns with RE7’s first-person camera, and the protagonist is Ethan Winters. The eighth mainline entry to the series is a straight-up continuation to RE7’s story. Capcom’s aim with the Village is to deliver a genuinely next-gen fast-paced gothic survival horror game. The Village retains almost everything mechanically from the past 3 RE-engine titles; the exact same control scheme, quick turns, focused aiming, and a grab defence mechanism. It uses all of these things in fun ways. As you explore this dark wooded town, you will be encountering a variety of solid enemies.

The gameplay includes collecting valuable limited resources to aid you in your journey. You will also be backtracking a lot to find key items, locked doors, treasures, and more, much like the older resident evil games. You can examine key items and discover secrets or hidden info to help you progress. There are tons of riddles and puzzles to solve throughout the game. It requires you to have fast reflexes to get around or deal with enemies and a bit of brainpower to figure out any complex mysteries.

Similar to the three previous games, the Village’s controls are highly responsive. In addition, the Village resembles RE4 in its basic shooting gameplay. But the perspective switch from first-person amps up the tension and gives the Village its own identity.

Hitman 3

As far as video games go, Hitman 3 is one of the most exciting and impressive games of the last several years. The game culminates a trilogy of titles, each developed under entirely different circumstances. Hitman 3 is a slow burn game compared to the previous two entries, but its payoff is stellar. It also allows you to carry forward all of the levels from the previous games, consoles, and even your Hitman 2 save progress.

In Hitman’s so-called World of Assassination trilogy, Agent 47 is sent into a sandbox-style location. These sandboxes vary a bit in scale, but most of them allow you to infiltrate and assassinate just as you like. You can poison somebody discreetly, dress up as a guard to get high-level access, or aim to do the ridiculous assassinations possible. Every player is going to have a completely different path through Hitman 3’s levels. It’s all based on how they think, approach the game’s problems, and how they explore.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Rift Apart sets a new high watermark for the Ratchet and Clank franchise’s ever-evolving gameplay. It has unmatched pacing features and a familiar soundtrack for the first time since 2007. Although the story may not top the list of best ratchet stories, it’s a simple one told incredibly well. In addition, it is likely one of the easiest to understand multiverse storylines. The game will take you across about ten major levels, with a few getting multiple revisits. And one of these is the most extensive level in the entire Ratchet and Clank franchise.

The game opens up with Clank gifting Ratchet a repaired “Dimensionator” to find the rest of his species, the “Lombaxes.” But in usual for Ratchet and Clank fashion, things quickly go awry when Dr. Nefarious shows up to steal it. In the ensuing battle, the device breaks and opens up rifts in the space-time continuum—the three warp into a parallel dimension, one of them where Nefarious is the emperor of the entire universe. When every reality is at risk, it is up to the now unretired Ratchet and Clank and our new protagonist Rivet to stop Nefarious and prevent the dimensions from imploding.

Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus is amongst the first big anime games of a new generation of consoles. The game starts showing its uniqueness right from the start. You can either pick Yuito or Kasane as your protagonist. Scarlet Nexus is not the first game to feature dual protagonists, but there is something different about this game. Unlike most games, you are not simply picking your main character’s gender; instead, you are picking a completely different character with its playstyle, own abilities, talents, and its own story.

Yuito and Kasane start in a very similar place. They are both new recruits in the “Other Suppression Force” or simply the OSF. A special force that protects citizens from creatures called the “Others.” The characters feature various powers in what the developers call a “brain punk world.” But that’s where the similarities stop. After the two protagonists are each placed in their squads, their story begins to diverge. Ultimately it converges, and you uncover many world secrets that the plotline shares across both stories. However, the pace and the order in which you discover it differ between the two of them.

Maquette

Publisher Annapurna Interactive tends to present thoughtful and artistic games. In that perspective, Maquette is no exception. It introduces inventive fundamentals and builds a range of puzzles around those core ideas. Meanwhile, linking it all together is a romantic tale that’s heartfelt and relatable.

There is the concept of a recursive world in Maquette’s plot. Like a Russian nesting doll or a hall of mirrors, the environment essentially exists inside copies of itself. It gets infinitely smaller as you move inwards and infinitely larger as you move outwards. The developers built a unique first-person puzzle game similar to a dome structure defining the boundaries of each layer.

The puzzles come into play when you take interactive objects and place them on one of these layers. For example, if a massive cube is blocking your path, you can move it by picking up an identical miniature cube from the model. You can intuitively work your way through the game by finding key objects, building bridges, and unlocking doors in various forms.

All these games described above are worth playing. We can assure you that every single one of them has our seal of approval.
