You know, now that I think about it. It’s pretty crazy how long it’s been since the last time we wrote COWCAT (the creators of “Demetrios – The BIG Cynical Adventure“) and any of their game titles (COWCAT also publishes other game studios creations). As a matter of fact, we haven’t done that since February of 2019.
Well, I’m putting an end to that long absence of no COWCAT-related content right here and right now. You see, I just found out that COWCAT is working on a brand-new game title called “BROK the InvestiGator“.
So, what in the name of Guybrush Threepwood is “BROK the InvestiGator” all about then? Well…For starters, “BROK” is a cartoon-like adventure/side-scrolling beat-em-up RPG, and there’s a light cyberpunk theme to the game as well.
In other words, “BROK” got a whole lot going for itself when it comes to creativity and uniqueness. I mean, sure, I don’t know about you, but I for one haven’t seen anything quite like “BROK” at least.
Anyways, I think you get the idea. So let’s move on shall we? So, as for the game story and plot of the game, here’s what’s known about “BROK” so far on that front:
“Brok” is a narrative-driven game that blends action and investigation in never-before-seen ways. Will you use your brain… or your brawn? In a futuristic “light cyberpunk” world where animals have replaced humans, privileged citizens live under a dome protected from the ambient pollution while others struggle to make a living outside of its protective dome.Brok, private detective and former boxer, lives with Graff, the son of his deceased wife.
Although he could never elucidate the nature behind her accident, recent events may shed some light on an even more tragic outcome… one that may be linked to their own existence. Will they be able to withstand the threats of this corrupted world and face their own destiny?”
Nice indeed, but what about in-game features then? Well, here are some of the current features for “BROK” as of the writing of the article:
Features:
– Solve puzzles with your wits… or muscles!
– Make choices impacting gameplay and/or story
– Easy mode for pure “Point & Click” gameplay (fights can be skipped)
– Level up to beat enemies and bosses
– Combine clues to uncover the truth!
– In-game hints
– Two playable characters, switch at any time
– 15 to 20 hours long on first playthrough
– Multiple distinct endings to unlock
– Fully voice acted (23,000 lines)
– All controls supported (mouse, keyboard or controller)
Well, that sounds pretty promising I have to say, and the very first trailer for “BROK” looks pretty darn cool as well (you can watch the said trailer further down the page). You don’t have to take my word for it though, since you could try out the free prologue for “BROK” right now via Steam.
I would also like to point out that COWCAT is going to launch an Kickstarter campaign for “BROK” on January 5th, 2021.
So “if” everything goes according to plan, then we should get a chance to play the full version of “BROK” for PC (via Steam) in the Winter of 2021, and for consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch in 2022).
So with that said, I wish COWCAT the best of luck with everything, and I hope that their upcoming Kickstarter campaign will be a huge success for “BROK”!
And with that said, what’s your take on what you’ve seen and heard from “BROK” so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
