Are you one of those console users who just upgraded to a next-gen system? Did you end up selling your PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360? I know I have and so have many others. So what happens from there in regards to your downloaded games and DLC for those consoles? Personally I think that we should have our purchased games and DLC transferred over to the next-gen consoles.
Reason being, why spend money on games that are digital and yet not being able to play it on just an upgraded console. Think back to when the Xbox 360 first came out back in 2005, people were already trying out the original Xbox games and they worked. I know I did this with Halo 2.
So why not do the same with digital games, weather it’s me or her the system is Ps3 or Xbox 360. Honestly, it wouldn’t be hard not one bit, to transfer over the games that we purchased previously. Hell, they are starting to make remastered versions of some games like Gears of War, and yet you will have to buy these games again?
For what? To see graphics that practically stayed the same? I really think that Microsoft and Sony should let us have our games that we have purchased on their digital game stores. Now there are some problems with this that will have to be discussed like the online play and new servers.
But even for games that don’t have online, we should still be able to play on the new consoles. Recently I was on the Xbox forums, and there’s a section where the head team of Xbox, go there and see people’s comments and this is how there updates are made. Now I was scrolling down and this same topic came up, with about 4,152 followers on that one topic. This here shows how a lot of people want the same thing. I find it really fair that we get all our digital games on the next-gen, PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
