I just woke up to the terrible news that Guillermo del Toro won´t be a part of the “Silent Hills” production anymore (this became known yesterday). And that started the rumors about the cancellation of “Silent Hills”. But there´s no official statement from Konami (or Kojima) at this time.
It´s how ever official that the Guillermo del Toro + Hideo Kojima formula won´t happen. As del Toro said the following during the San Francisco International Film Festival:
“It’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart” – Guillermo del Toro
I should point out the following though. Even “if” Konami doesn´t cancell “Silent Hills”, the project is already dead in the eyes of the fans. As the Silent Hill fan community loved the idea of a Kojima and del Toro collaboration. Well, that dream is dead now. So it remains to be seen if Konami will even release “Silent Hills” at all.
And “if” the game ever get´s to see the day of light. Will people even bother to buy “Silent Hills”?
