I really liked the idea of a retail version of Yacht Club´s 8bit 2D side-scrolling action/platform game “Shovel Knight“. Hell, even Yacht Club themselves liked the thought of that. But sadly enough, it´s not true. At least not for now. Sure, the 3DS version of “Shovel Knight” was indeed listed on Bestbuy, but the game was removed just recently (you can´t buy or pre-order the game).

In fact, just the other day Yacht Club tweeted out this (click on the picture down below):

So much for all the rumors about a retail version of “Shovel Knight”…

So it seems like we won´t be seeing a physical release of “Shovel Knight” anytime soon. But don´t be sad though. As the game will be released digitally to PS3, PS4, and PSV on the 21st of April!

Shovel Knight is a 2D side-scrolling platform game. And it was originally released back in 2014.

As for the actual game itself. It´s most definitely worthy of both your time and money. At least if you like awesome 8bit platform/action games such as “Mega Man”, “Castlevania” and “Ninja Gaiden”.
