When I originally posted my “The Sega Dreamcast 2 project are very much alive, say hello to “Project Dream” article on the 20th of December. I had no idea what kind of an impact the article would get. So I was quite surprised when we broke all of our past records when it comes to unique visits per day. However, since a certain Patrick Lawson (his probably one of the biggest liars whom I´ve ever talked to) was everything but honest towards me (that goes for everyone in the Project Dream team as well). I had to clean up after his mess and set the record straight (thus our interview with Bertie Wiseman and Ben Plato). Anyhow, I´ve been talking to Bertie Wiseman (Website designer, group moderator, research & development for Project Dream) for quite sometime today. And he told me that Lawson had been thrown out from the Project Dream team. Wiseman also informed me that the Project Dream homepage is now live and kicking!
And on the Project Dream homepage you will find the real and TRUE information behind Project dream. Such as what the project is all about, the team, their goals and so on. So I took the liberty to add that info to this post:
“Welcome to the Official Project Dream Website.
Our aim is simple — help Sega get back into console hardware and revive the Dreamcast. Sega was once a brand known for hardware that was ahead of its time and games that were imaginative and fun. When Sega ceased production of the Dreamcast on March 31, 2001, it ended an era of a console that provided endless hours of entertainment for millions of fans. This is where Project Dream comes in.
With your support, we are gathering ideas and putting together a proposal to help Sega relaunch the once revered console. We are putting together a proposal for Sega’s return to the console business. This proposal will include a go-to-market strategy, hardware prototypes, and full user interface prototypes, all of which will be presented at Sega HQ. We have put together a strong core team that consists of hardware engineers, experience and user interface designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and game industry insiders.
Project Dream has already gathered 24K signatures on the Dreamcast Revival Petition on change.org, 2,900 members on our Project Dream Dreamcast Revival Facebook group, and 7000 follower’s on Twitter. We see this as a serious venture and ask the fans for their ideas and support for the project.
We encourage you to take part in discussions about hardware, software, and overall Sega nostalgia in the Project Dream Dreamcast Revival Facebook Group. Tell us your ideas and help us revive the Sega Dreamcast.” – The Project Dream homepage

The Dream team:
Bertie Wiseman
Website designer, group moderator, research & development, campaign management
Ben Plato
Group moderator, research & development.
Joanne Freeman
Gaming industry insider, translator, group moderator, research & development
Shane De Lumeau
Experience designer, user interface designer, user research, group moderator
And as you can see, there are no Kickstarter plans, nor any mentions of a Dreamcast 2 (at least not for now). The whole idea behind Project Dream is to help SEGA get back into console hardware. And “if” that works out really well, then there “might” be a chance for a new Dreamcast console (the Project Dream team intend to send a proposal to SEGA, which will include a go-to-market strategy, hardware and software prototypes). So there you have it, that is everything that´s publicly known about Project Dream at this time (we will also do a second interview with the complete Project Dream team in the near future). And if you want to show Project Dream your support, then sign the “To design and release a Sega Dreamcast Limited Edition Console” petition.
With that said, what do you think about Project Dream so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
