Less than 24 hours ago we were contacted by an indie developer called Cavelight Entertainment. Well, to make a long story short. Cavelight presented to me their upcoming arcade vehicle game “Crazy Dozer” (you can download and try the alpha demo today for PC via indiedb.com). And while I was watching the latest trailer for the game (you can watch the trailer further down the page). I just couldn´t help to think about games such as “Blast Corps“, “Viper Racing” and “Top Gear Rally“. Sure, I can only speak for myself of course, but that´s at least the vibes that I felt while watching some gameplay footage from “Crazy Dozer”.
And since Cavelight has described their game “Crazy Dozer” in the following kind of way:
“Remember looking at pre-rendered cutscenes in the late 90’s and imagining the day that games actually look like that? Remember how menus used to consist of 3D models for no obvious reason? Then this is the throwback you’ve been looking for! Crazy Dozer is a high-paced arcade style vehicle game where your goal is to destroy everything in sight before the timer runs out. Use one of several crazy vehicles, each available in both Normal and Crazy configuration.” – Cavelight Entertainment
I really wasn´t all that far off with my thoughts about the “Viper Racing” and “Blast Corps” vibes in “Crazy Dozer”.
And yes, I´m of course aware of the fact that not everyone will enjoy the retro graphics and feel to the game. And that´s also why I would recommend people to download and try the demo for “Crazy Dozer” themselves. So that you get a fair chance to determine if this is your kind of game or not. Personally, I enjoyed it. Then again, I´m a real sucker for old-school and retro-like kind of games (I grew up playing a lot of games in the 80s and 90s).
So if you enjoyed old-school racing and wrecking games such as “Blast Corps” and “Viper Racing”. Then you should most definitely give the “Crazy Dozer” demo a try, and “if” you enjoyed the demo. Then don´t forget to show the game some love on Steam Greenlight.
