It seems like Fenrir Studios might be on to something with their sci-fi/cyberpunk stealth action game “Dark Storm: Ascension” (for Windows, MAC and Linux). As the game looks and feels like a mix of Deus Ex and Metal Gear Solid (Dark Storm runs on Unreal Engine 4 btw). However, I´ll have to try the free demo for Dark Storm before I mention anything else about the game. I´m going to admit that I like the game concept for Dark Storm though. And it seems like Fenrir Studios has a lot of talented people on their team as well (people who have worked on titles such as Guild Wars 2, Whispering Willows and World of Warcraft Cataclysm).
It remains to be seen whether that will be enough to help Dark Storm to reach it´s $50,000 Kickstarter goal or not though. Sure, the ambition, potential and the vision is there. Even so, it takes a whole lot to be successful on Kickstarter. So one might ask him/herself if Fenrir Studios have what it takes to prove their worth to the Gaming community? Well, they got about 27 days to win the Gamers trust and support. Besides. If people are doubtful about “Dark Storm”, they could just download and try the free demo for the game, BEFORE they pledge any money to the Kickstarter campaign. You might also get a chance to get a better view of Dark Storm during Fenrir Studios live Stream events via Twitch (August 6th, 19th and 31st at 4:00pm).
Nevertheless, as for now, Dark Storm: Ascension has a lot to prove. So it´s going to be rather interesting to see whether Fenrir Studios will be able to pull this on off or not. They did really well on Steam Greenlight though, as Dark Storm got greenlit not so long ago. Anyhow, I wish them the best of luck on Kickstarter!
