I have always been fascinated by parkour. Because not only is it a sport, it´s also an art form and a “yoga on the run” kind of activity (at least i find it to be very relaxing and yoga like). So i got really interested in Caracal games studio´s open-world adventure/FPS/postapocalyptic game “Downward” (which is set during the Middle Ages after the events of the Book of Revelation of St. John ). A game which also just happens to be inspired by some of my favourite video games and game series. Games such as “Prince of Persia”, “Silent Hill“, Another World”, “Shadow of the Colossus” and the “Monkey Island” series.
And if you thought that was impressing, then it´s just about to get even more impressing. Because the world of “Downward” is developed in Unreal engine 4, and that have made the game really beautiful and magnificent when it comes to graphics.
So what will the gameplay be like in “Downward”? (the game And is it a “walking/running simulator”? Well, according to Caracal games themselves. “Downward” will offer a “full-dive immersion type of gameplay“. And no, the game is not a walking (or running) simulator. As “walking and observing are relevant in the game”, which would be the devs exact words.
Caracal games has also stated that there will be puzzle elements and secondary activities in “Downward” as well. There won´t be any zombies or nuclear disasters in the game though. I can´t say that i cry over that fact, as it´s been done at least 1 million times before. So if you like the sound of this (and the teaser trailer) then i´m glad to inform you that “Downward” is set for a Windows release sometime next winter (the game “might” also come to MAC, Linux and consoles).
So stay tuned people for more information about “Downward”!
