As you might remember, things didn´t quite go Mr. Tired Media´s way on Kickstarter (the campaign kicked-off in May this year). However, “Undead Darlings” didn´t die even though the game didn´t reach it´s 45,000 USD goal on Kickstarter. Because Nick Doerr (Creative Director Mr. Tired Media) and his team kept on working really hard to keep “Undead Darlings” alive (I´m truly happy that I got a chance to do an interview with Nick about “Undead Darlings”, because I really like the concept of the game). So I got quite happy when I received the following message from Nick Doerr earlier today:
“Greetings, my favorite friends of the media!
I will be brief so as to not waste your time — Mr. Tired Media’s Patreon page is a big success, with over $500/month being pledged to our cause and development of Undead Darlings ~no cure for love~. We have added new images to the main Patreon page to show off recent progress, and we have just published a public post from our audio director asking for fan input on what type of music comes to mind when they see our game’s art and style.
I would absolutely love any shout-out you can give us, especially since news may be a bit slow during this holiday week. Our game is poised to impress dungeon crawler fans, visual novel fans, and fans of female leads in video games. Subverting typical Japanese tropes with stronger female leads is one of our many goals, and we’d love to show everyone exactly what we mean when the game releases!” – Nick Doerr, Founder, Creative Director Mr. Tired Media
Yes, that´s right. “Undead Darlings” has now reached 500 USD per month on Patreon. In other words, the development of the game will continue in the future as well. So tons of congratulations to the Mr. Tired Media team =) Furthermore, “hopefully” this means that “Undead Darlings” will see the day of light some time during Q1/Q2 next year. Because Mr. Tired Media has stated that the game will launch on Steam around that time. Well, time will tell. As for here and now though, you can watch the “Undead Darlings” crowdfunding end stream down below.
