Earlier today we were contacted by a small indie studio called Soulbound Games (it´s a studio from the Czech Republic), because they just happen to be working on a really impressive story-driven 2.5D puzzle platform game called “Renoir.”, a game that´s inspired by awesome games such as “The Swapper“, “Limbo” and “Braid”. Not only that, Renoir is inspired by 1940s and 50s Hollywood movies such as “Out of the Past” (1947), “The Big Combo” (1955), “The Big Sleep” (1946), “Double Indemnity” (1944), and “Sunset Blvd” (1950) as well.
So, yes, you guess it. Renoir is a “noir” kind of game, and it looks freaking awesome thanks to Unreal Engine 4. However, there is a big “but” to all of this, because Renoir needs to collect £39,000 on Kickstarter in-order to become a reality. Even so, I still think that Renoir will make it on time (as there still is 20 days left to go on the Kickstarter campaign).
So “if” everything goes according to plan, then we should be able to play Renoir sometime around January 2017 (Windows, MAC, Linux, PS3 and Xbox One). That´s what I hope at least, because I see a lot of potential in Renoir, so if you feel the same way as I do. Then you should show Renoir some support and love on Kickstarter asap!
