I don’t know about you guys and girls, but I grew up to love first-person adventure games like “Myst“, “Atlantis“, “Riven” and “Zork: Grand Inquisitor”. That’s also why I got quite excited when RisingLane informed us that their first-person adventure game “Aleron’s Lie” (it’s a story-driven emotional drama/mystery game for Windows) has released its demo:
“Hello! My name is Ahmet and I have just released a Launch Trailer and a Free Demo for a Video Game that was Inspired by Firewatch. It’s a First Person Adventure that follows an odd duo as they embark on a quest to find a way out of their respective cabins, forming an unlikely alliance in the process.” – Ahmet KoctarFounder, CEO, director, writer, designer RisingLane
Furthermore, RisingLane also had us know that they have uploaded the launch trailer for “Aleron’s Lie” as well (you can watch the said video further down the page), and that they will soon kick-off a Kickstarter campaign for the game (the goal would be to collect 6,000 pounds). Nice indeed, but what exactly is Aleron’s Lie” all about then? Well, this is what’s known about the game’s story so far:
“Aleron’s Lie is a Drama set in a Cabin in Montana, where you’re locked up while your daughter’s life is on the line and the only person you can talk to via smartphone claims to be in a similar situation. You are a man named Aleron and you’ve decided to stay in a Cabin for a month to get used to being separated from your daughter. You told her not to call you. After all she has to get used to it as much as you. Your 16-year-old daughter didn’t listen: She called you. As hard as it was for you, you rejected her. She promised she wouldn’t call you again. You made her promise that. But she calls you again.
In fear she tells you to come back. You don’t know what’s going. The doors are locked. The windows are bulletproof. There is no way out and the only person you can contact, who is a woman named Nora, claims to be in a similar situation. It’s your choice: Will you trust her and work together to find a way out of your respective cabins? Or will you destroy your relationship with the only person that’s left to call?” – RisingLane
As for features, these are some of the said launch features for “Aleron’s Lie”:
Game features:
– Explore an amazing and gigantic Cabin set in Montana in the Glacier National Park
– Use your Smartphone to stay in touch with a mysterious but charismatic woman named Nora.
– Use your Smartphone to take pictures of your strange findings.
– Use your Gallery to send these pictures to Nora and help each other with leaving your respective Cabins.
– Cooperate with Nora and solve unique and challenging puzzles that could decide whether your daughter will live or die.
– And experience a Simple Story with Complex Characters that you will never forget.
In other words, if you like the sound of that. Then you might want to give the Aleron’s Lie’s demo a try =) And “if” you like the demo, then show the game some love on Kickstarter (Aleron’s Lie’s Kickstarter is said to go live on the 25th of February). Other than that, RisingLane aims to release “Aleron’s Lie” for Windows in April of this year. Well, that’s at least the plan. However, in-order to make that happen, “Aleron’s Lie” needs to reach it’s 6,000-pound Kickstarter goal on time.
And with that said, what’s your take on “Aleron’s Lie” so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
