I don´t know about you guys and girls, but I´ve been a fan of point-and-click adventure games since the early 90s. So I have enjoyed classic adventure games such as “Monkey Island”, “Beneath A Steel Sky“, “Zac McKraken” and “Maniac Mansion” (to name a few). That´s also why I got quite excited when Xoron GmbH informed me (Robin Ek, TGG) that he will release his own point-and-click-adventure game “Paul Pixel: The Awakening” (the game is already out for iOS devices) in January next year (January the 10th, to be exact).
“An ordinary guy forced to defend the world from an alien invasion of infectious zombies. A point-and-click adventure with beautiful pixel art and bombastic retro sound. Gameplay is similar to old games like Maniac Mansion, Zac McKraken, Beneath A Steel Sky and Monkey Island, but the game has a unique interface. Unlike most other point-and-click adventures the player actually holds the current item in his hand. Even the new TouchBar on the MacBook Pro is supported (optional).” – Xoron GmbH
That´s great news for fans of adventure games with no doubt. However, I should point out that “Paul Pixel: The Awakening” won´t be available for Windows in January, but for MAC systems only. Nevertheless, I did ask Peter Solveig (Xoron GmbH, the developer of “Paul Pixel: The Awakening”) when the game might get to see the day of light of Windows systems. Well, this is what Peter told me:
“Not yet. It depends on the success at Steam. Next platform is probably Apple TV.”
In other words, Windows users will have to wait for the game to be released for their OS. Even so, I´m still glad to see that the MAC users will be able to enjoy “Paul Pixel: The Awakening” in January next year =) (the Steam release is about two weeks away now).
