I know, I know. It’s been quite a while since we published a new interview in our art and comics interview series (don’t miss out on our previous interviews with Rodrigo Ybañez, Team RAGS, Pablo Romero, Kukuruyo and Sciamano240!).

Well, you boys and girls won’t have to wait another minute, because we got a brand-new interview for you to enjoy =) You see, just recently I sat down and did an interview with the Brazillian pinup/NSFW artist KILLBIRO (Fernando Neves Rocha).

Long story short, we ended up talking about everything from KILLBIRO’s pinup drawings, lewd content, Comicsgate, the current year’s SJW/PC madness to his thoughts on censorship and cancel culture.

So with that said, please enjoy our interview with KILLBIRO 😉 (you can find more of KILLBIRO’s art via his Patreon, Twitter, Facebook and deviantart page).

killbiro my hero academia camie utsushimi

KILLBIRO (Fernando Neves Rocha) is a very talented and creative pinup/NSFW artist from Brazil, and he has made a name for himself by making a ton of awesome drawings that are based on female video game, anime, comic and movie characters.

Robin TGG
Thanks a ton for taking your time doing this interview with us =) And we’re going to start off this interview with by letting you introduce yourself to our readers. So please go ahead and do so.

KILLBIRO
Anytime! I truly appreciate the opportunity.

So, with that said, my name is Fernando Neves Rocha =) And I live in bo brazil in the littoral of Rio de Janeiro. I work as an administrator of training companies and as a designer (I make pinup art for the most part).

killbiro psylocke x-men

KILLBIRO got interested in comics, art and drawing at a very early age (KILLBIRO was about four years old when he found a liking to drawing and painting pictures).

Robin TGG
Do you recall how everything started for you when it comes to reading, creating and drawing comics and pictures?

KILLBIRO
I remember when I was four years old, I always used to draw and creating ships in combat, etc. I also learned easily when some adult taught me how to draw a cart or person.

I also recall that I liked to copy the drawings from some really great coloring books (I have the first great coloring book kept until today that was about the Brazilian flora and fauna), and afterward, I always came to reproduce drawings, animes or tokusatsu (these were the biggest references of my childhood).

So after about 11 years, I entered an art school to acquire a technique where I learned to work with graphite pencil and after that oil on canvas in a nutshell that was the beginning of everything.

killbiro red sonja dynamite comics

KILLBIRO has been inspired by quite a few different artists over the years, and some of those artists include everyone from Joe Madureira, Mike Deodato and Stanley Lau.

Robin TGG
Are there any artists and comics that you really like, respect and look up to? If so, which?

KILLBIRO
Yes, there are several of them actually. At the top of my head, I could name the following Joe Madureira, Mike Deodato and Stanley Lau. I mean, sure there are several others that inspire me a lot as well, but those are some of my top picks when it comes to artists that I really like and look up to.

killbiro jessica nigri as scorbunny from pokemon

KILLBIRO has drawn and painted pictures ever since he was twelve years old. In other words, his been doing what he loves to do for a very long time (more power to him!).

Robin TGG
I’m curious to know for how long you’ve been creating and drawing pictures? What has the response and feedback been since you started to draw pictures of sexy and thick babes?

KILLBIRO
Wow…This really takes me back, because it was such a long time since I got started with drawing pictures and whatnot. Anyways, I think since I was 12 or 13 years old I played RPG and I liked to illustrate the characters and at least mine were strong and voluptuous women.

As for feedback, I can say that when I adopted this follow-up definitely to work, it has been very positive. However, there will always be militant people like that (unfortunately enough), but I don’t care a bit.

So I’m just going to keep working on it until I have the opportunity to study other techniques for learning and improvement.

killbiro lady death coffin comics

KILLBIRO sure knows his thick and sexy ladies :3 (Lady Death salutes you!)

Robin TGG
Now that I think about it, have you always been into drawing sexy and thick ladies? And do you remember how it all started for you?

KILLBIRO
Yes, always. As I mentioned in the previous question. It all started when I was 11 or 12-year-old and drawing role-playing characters. As a matter of fact, I had actually been introduced to HENTAI long before that, but at the time it was very restricted.

killbiro cammy street fighter

The fear and despise of the female body is sadly enough very much a thing in today’s society (the ReardEra/PedoEra forum and Tumblr is most likely the best evidence of this). I mean, a sexy and fit female body (real as fictional) is now more or less blasphemy in the eyes of the SJWs.

Robin TGG
I actually got a follow-up question on the same topic. Why do you think that so many people and big-name companies in the comic, movie and video games industry are so afraid of the female form nowadays?

KILLBIRO
You know…In today’s society, everything is very sensitive, and there is more and more censorship on all fronts as well…

And that is something which complicates matters a whole lot for artists everywhere that just happens to work with content which they (SJWs) have labeled as “sexist” (most of the time that’s not the case at all).

killbiro mai shiranui the king of fighters

“Unrealistic standards”, “broken spine” and “where are her organs” you say? KILLBIRO and Mai couldn’t care less!

Robin TGG
Speaking of female boobs and the fear of them. I’m pretty sure that you must have heard quite a few “buzzwords” from the SJW camp as of lately.

You know, buzzwords such as “unrealistic standards”, broken spine” and “where are her organs” and so on?

If that just happens to be the case, then what are your thoughts on that matter? (personally, I don’t agree with them…Because there exist all sorts of different body types and sizes in real-life).

KILLBIRO
It didn’t happen to me, but I see many internet “experts” questioning the techniques of great artists. My concept of art is: do it the way you want. I mean, art isn’t exactly meant to be hyperrealistic for the most part, so you can do and create whatever you want. Furthermore, grace is incoherent and not perfect (perfectness is only found in photos).

killbiro widowmaker overwatch

You might not know it, but Brazillian women have always been a great source of inspiration for KILLBIRO (Brazil has some of the thickest, beautiful and sexy women in the whole world!).

Robin TGG
In my mind, there are no doubts whatsoever that you’re a really creative person and talented artist.

So, did it take you a long time to find your own unique drawing style? And have the hot and thick babes of Brazil helped you to improve your skills as an artist? (the key word is “motivation” *cough cough*)

KILLBIRO
Thanks! From my point of view though, I’m still learning and evolving as an artist. Even so, I still feel like I’m already pretty close to what I want to be in terms of finding my own unique style as an artist.

And as I’m self-taught in digital art, I’ll have you know that it is very complicated to find your own style, it takes time. But yes, the inspiration in the Brazilian female form is very strong with me.

And since so many drawings are based on women, I think that it’s very important to put a reality of uniqueness into the art that you’re making.

Furthermore, if you want to go that one extra mile, then think outside of the box even if it means that you might get some hate for making art of a loved charter (or if you don’t make everyone feel as if they are represented by your art creation).

killbiro oc vampire warrior

Brazil has a huge art, comic manga, anime and video game market and fanbase. So it’s no wonder why we’re now starting to see a lot of talent in all of those said industries.

Robin TGG
What’s the art and comic market like in Brazil? And what’s really popular in Italy right now when it comes to comics and art?

KILLBIRO
Brazil is a strong market with no doubt, as it has a lot of consumer demand. However, artists are not yet widespread. Other than that, the Brazilian is a diversified consumer who consumes a bit of everything there is.

killbiro blue mary the king of fighters

KILLBIRO sure has evolved and come a long way as an artist since he published his very first drawing via Facebook back in February of 2014 (the said drawing was of Power Girl).

Robin TGG
What would you say that you’re the proudest of so far with your drawings and why?

KILLBIRO
I think it’s the evolution that I’ve had as an artist since I started with digital art. So seeing what I was doing in 2014 and 2015 for what I have now was a very satisfying evolutionary process. So obviously, I want to improve more and more.

killbiro street fighter v laura

KILLBIRO is a self-taught and independent artist, and that’s something that has been rather challenging but yet fun and rewarding.

Robin TGG
As you just happen to be a creator of art that covers everything from comic, video game and real-life babes.

What’s your opinion on comicsgate and what’s it been like to be an indie artists/creator in today’s art industry? And have you ever had any thoughts on making your own comics?

KILLBIRO
I never really thought about it, but being independent is a challenge even more so being self-taught and incinerating in this market, I still have a lot to learn. I thought, but it’s not something that attracts me yet to have my own comic. On a personal level, I find individual arts to be more attractive.

killbiro illyana rasputina x-men

Just like KILLBIRO, I have been a fan of Blizzard since the 90s. However, Blizzard is not the Blizzard that I grew up with, because the Blizzard of today is very much a politically driven company that embraces censorship, SJW and political correctness culture.

Robin TGG
I’m not sure if you’re into video games or not…But even you’re not into gaming, I’m still pretty sure that you must have heard about the drama and scandals surrounding Blizzard (the Blitzchung and Blizzcon “Incident”)?

Well, if that’s the case, then I’m very curious to hear you’re opinions on that matter. Especially so since Blizzard continues to silence and punish those who support Hong Kong and It’s people who are fighting for their freedom…

KILLBIRO
I sure am! And I’ve been a fan of Blizzard since they launched “Rock n roll racer” back in 1993.

Anyways, honestly, I don’t think that Blizzard should get into politics (for more than one reason). For example, here in Brazil, everything thing has to be put in the middle when it comes to anything political once a debate about something happens (I find that to be both boring and unnecessary).

Furthermore, I do not criticize either party for something that has happened in Brazil, Chile, Venezuela, etc (the problem goes far beyond what you might think to take sides).

killbiro mai shiranui the king of fighters booty

KILLBIRO is not a fan of censorship nor people who police art (art as in drawings, video games, movies, comics and so on).

Robin TGG
Since you have made a ton of drawings of sexy ladies throughout the years, then surely you must have noticed the rise of voices who wants to police the art medium as a whole?

And with that fresh in mind, what’s your take on censorship, cancel culture and SJW madness in general? And what do you think we could do about it?

KILLBIRO
For every reaction there is an action, so if something forbids there will be something that will circumvent or cancel the ban.

Unsurprisingly for us throughout history, we have suffered from this kind of interference and have come around different ways. The problem at the moment is the strength of militancy, but one hour it ends, as everything in the world one day ends.

killbiro a very sexy and thick babe

Yep, that’s right. KILLBIRO makes 18+ erotic drawings as well :3

Robin TGG
Do you intend to stick to creating and drawing pin-up pictures of babes in the future as well? And do you think that you might create some nude and +18 drawings in the near future?

KILLBIRO
Actually, I already do, it’s just that I don’t post my lewd content via social networks. You see, when it comes to 18+ content, I’m careful. Why? Because I’m being known as a designer of sexy women etc..

What I’m trying to say that I have become a brand when it comes to drawing sexy women, and it’s complicated to insert another more explicit product into that very same brand.

killbiro lara croft tomb raider

KILLBIRO has a lot of plans and hopes for 2020. So I’m wishing him the best of luck with everything, and I hope to see even more topnotch drawings from KILLBIRO in the near future.

Robin TGG
Now, as for my last interview question for this time. What are your expectations, hopes and plans for the rest of this year? And is there anything else that you would like to say to our readers?

KILLBIRO
I’m really improving my trait and relying on Patreon for my 2019 artbook project, where for the first time I will be creating physical material for supporters and sales in addition to the ebook.

It will include the best arts of 2019 that will be open soon, I have not yet formulated how I will do this vote, but getting a significant number of support will be able to put this project into practice in 2020.

Other than that, I should also start in 2020 by going to CONS initially in my state to see how it goes (I’ve always been a homemade artist hahahah!).
