Taken has solidified Liam Neeson as an action star, and an incredible force to be reckoned with. If there ever was a question of what Brian Mills did before he met Lenore and had his daughter Kim, we finally have an answer. NBC has ordered a prequel series to Taken—and there’s a slightly odd twist to it. While the show will be a straight to series order, we won’t be following Liam Neeson, nor his family. That’s right an true prequel.
Instead, fans will be given a younger, sharper—deadlier Brian Mills when he was still in the CIA, before Lenore and Kim. Even stranger still, the series will take place in present day, and “play with time a bit,” suggesting we’ll see more of an Arrow or The Flash kind of flashback sequence once in a while. The show, tiled Taken, will be produced by longtime producer of the Taken film series Luc Besson. The search for a showrunner and head writer is currently underway.
There is currently no date for the show’s premiere.
