I just wanted to make clear that TheRalph did indeed get thrown out from the RavenCon expo. Because there was some confusion yesterday, whether or not TheRalph “just” got kicked out from Brianna Wu´s panel, or from the whole convention.
But it´s true, TheRalph had to leave RavenCon completly (he gave us an answer on that one yesterday via Twitter). So there you have it. And there´s a lesson to be learned from this. Because if you´re going to one of Brianna Wu´s presentations. Do NOT take pictures of her, unless you have asked her for permeation to do so.
But if you still insist to take pictures of miss Wu (despite what i just wrote). Then you better be prepared to face the consequences of your actions.
I´m honestly starting to wonder what´s wrong with Comic Con´s in America and Canada nowadays? First it was the Calgary Expo fiasko, then Denver Comic Con and now RavenCon. Because late last night i found out about the little “incident” involving Brianna Wu and TheRalph (his a writer and the founder of theralphretort.com) at the RavenCon Expo.
At first i didn’t know what to make of it. Because i thought that it was some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. As everything started of rather well at Miss Wu´s presentation panel. But all hell broke loss when TheRalph took some pictures of Brianna Wu. Because apparently, miss Wu was checking her twitter timeline while she was getting ready for her presentation.
And when Miss Wu realized that TheRalph was taking pictures of her. She immediately demanded that the security would remove TheRalph from the her sight. In which Brianna Wu stated the following:
“He just took pictures of me without my permission” – Brianna Wu, Giant Spacekat
Which the security also did. But what i didn´t know, was that TheRalph also had to leave RavenCon as well. Miss Wu had (from what i know) the legal right to have TheRalph removed from her presentation. But it was quite overkill to have him thrown out from the RavenCon altogether imo.
This incident actually made me think about that one time when Axl Rose (Guns N Roses) had the security to remove one guy in the crowd from his show. Why?Because he wore a Slash t-shirt. Sure, it´s Axl´s show and he set the rules. But it was a real douchebag move to throw that guy out from the concert. But i think you get my point.
Because just like in the case with Axl Rose and the Slash loving fan at his concert. Miss Wu can have people thrown out from her shows (“presentations) as well. But it doesn´t exactly do her any good in terms of PR or a good reputation. I´m not 100% sure if miss Wu knew who TheRalph was. But the facial expressions that she made in TheRalph´s video, made me believe that she indeed knew who he was.
And now miss Wu is accusing TheRalph of both stalking and libel behavior. So there might even be a lawsuit in the air right now. I don´t think miss Wu will have all that much luck with that lawsuit though. Because she would need a lot of evidence to back that claim up.
And just like always when something like this goes down. There´s a lot of comments and rants about it on the internet. Make what you want out of it, me, i´m still trying to digest what just happenedat the Ravecon…

“So let me guess this straight.
1. Ralph arranges to have interview with Brianna Wu during RavenCon.
2. Ralph attends Brianna’s panel, takes a picture of her before it starts.
3. Brianna stalks twitter at the same time, sees picture, gets mad, demands Ralph’s removal from attending panel (and succeeds), demands his removal from THE ENTIRE CONVENTION (which fails), and claims he doxxed her family.
4. Meanwhile, RavenCon says they’re onto Ralph’s shenanigans on twitter.” – Badass Salmon
“Lol stalking and libel.
“Any person who on more than one occasion engages in conduct directed at another person with the intent to place, or with the knowledge that the conduct places, that other person in reasonable fear of death, criminal sexual assault, or bodily injury to that other person or to that other person’s family or household member shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.”
“Defamation is a false statement of fact published or communicated to another person that causes injury to the reputation of the subject of the statement. The false statement must be a false statement of fact, and not mere opinions.”
As per Richmond, Virginia law.
In short, you have no fucking clue what you’re talking about. If Brianna seriously wanted to prosecute Ralph for stalking, she would have to prove he broke the law more than once via sexual assault, bodily injury, property damage, or placed her within reasonable fear OF DEATH (think menacing with a deadly weapon), or (gave Brianna the knowledge he) had intent to do so. He wrote some shitty blogs about her, went to a panel she hosted, and took a picture. That isn’t fucking stalking.
If she wanted to sue him for libel, she has to produce that anything he wrote about her is a statement of fact, factually incorrect, and has damaged her reputation. I want you to find something he has ever wrote that has met that exact criteria. That would hold up in court. Good luck.
Until then, give up on the character assassination with these BS claims. If you want to shit on Ralph, do it for the right reasons. Like that he’s a fat sack of shit who likes to start shit with people on the internet.” – Badass Salmon
“Noted psychopath Brianna Wu has me ejected for tweeting out a photo of her. She then tries to demand that I be removed from the entire convention, but is rebuffed. I was leaving anyway, genius.” – TheRalph
