Press release:
21 January 2021.
Today marks the beginning of “The Big Adventure Event“, a free Steam festival dedicated to celebrating all walks of the iconic, varied adventure game genre, ideal for fans and new players alike.
Presented by indie game publisher Hitcents, the event will run from January 21 – 25 and features approximately 85 upcoming and released games – offering discounts, developer broadcasts, and brand new free demos to explore.
Taking place across Steam, with a central hub via a dedicated event page, the event will feature two upcoming titles from Hitcents’ own roster plus an expansive library of indie adventure games across the genre. Among the many fellow publishers and developers featured are Whitethorn Digital, Toge Productions, Joe Richardson, Fellow Traveller, and Raw Fury – the latter of which will be bringing a big announcement as part of the event.
Players will be invited to join as developers stream their work live, offering a chance to share behind the scenes information, answer questions and showcase what may become their next favourite adventure game! Players can expect developer broadcasts of a mixed range of titles including Unforeseen Incidents, Inspector Waffles, Tangle Tower, and Lord Winklebottom Investigates.
Who are Hitcents?
A firm believer that a rising tide lifts all boats – especially in the indie games community – Hitcents are a developer fuelled by a drive to nurture and support teams that look to do something inventive with their work.
Beginning first as a team rooted in advertising, in 2011 a member of the Hitcents team put together a small interactive app which allowed players to draw their own hero by hand. Soon, this snowballed into Draw a Stickman – a playful series of games that went on to win 5 Webby Awards boasting over 100 million players around the globe.
A passion for sharing fun experiences with players ignited, Hitcents became a full-service publisher, seeking to support games that look to inspire wonder and creativity in their players.
With their roster currently including the intricate cinematic adventure Forgotton Anne, the biting puzzle platformer Ministry of Broadcast and the upcoming noir cat-detective point ‘n’ click Inspector Waffles – Hitcents are a team proud to uplift games with heart, alongside their efforts to bolster the wider indie game community.
