Wayô Records continues to be the go to destination for RPG soundtracks, publishing the Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom Original Soundtrack on the heels of the hugely successful Ni No Kuni soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi and the Legend of Legacy soundtrack by Masashi Hamauzu.
“Few years ago at Japan Expo (France), I first met Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom creator and composer Hazem Hawash,” notes Wayô Records Producer Jonathan Khersis. “I was really moved the first time I heard Hazem’s work as it not only worked well with the game’s atmosphere, but also sent me back to my childhood by reminding me of my favorite RPG soundtracks from the SNES and PlayStation eras. My hope is that RPG fans will listen to and appreciate this amazing soundtrack and be reminded of their childhood as well.”
Composer Hazem Hawash and Wayô Records producer Jonathan Khersis are available for interview upon request.
About Wayô Records
Established in 2010 in Paris, Wayô Records is the very first French label dedicated to the promotion of music from video games and visual arts in France. Led by a team of game music enthusiasts already specialised in event planning, editing, journalism, translation and music, Wayô aims to bridge a link between artists and fans from all around the world.
Our activities span from concert planning to album production and distribution, not only limited to video game music but also to anime, movie and TV soundtracks. In Japanese, “wayô” is a word formed with (wa), meaning “Japanese style,” and (yô), meaning “Western style.” Through our numerous contacts in the music world in Japan and Europe, we encourage the meeting of these two cultures, hoping that it will enrich both of them.
When working with artists, we want to understand their vision and their musical world in order to communicate them to the Western audience as accurately as possible. As video game and anime music fans ourselves, we highly respect classics as well as more obscure works. With each new event, Wayô means to shed some light on underestimated pieces of music by mixing them with celebrated ones.
