Press release:
26 JULY 2018 — Dallas, TX-based indie developer House Pixel Games today announces the Steam Early Access launch of Mowin’ & Throwin’, a 2v2 multiplayer game featuring lawn-mowing gnomes!
In this four-player couch competitive game, players team up and control gnomes to frantically mow grass. The team that trims the most wins. During this lawn‑manicuring match, items drop from the sky. Pick up and throw a gasoline can at your lawnmower to refuel. Or hurl fertilizer and rocks on your opponents’ yard to make their grass grow and sabotage their progress.
The game started its life as a game jam title devised by Ed Dearien (who later left for Sony to work on God of War), but evolved into something more as the House Pixel Games team spent time polishing the vision, art style, and game mechanics.
Marc Mixon, producer at House Pixel Games, said: “Player feedback has already had a huge impact on development, so our primary goal in Early Access to continue to grow our community of players and let them guide us as we develop the game.”
Mowin’ & Throwin’ will remain in the Steam Early Access program until early 2019, with House Pixel Game planning a 1v1 game mode and other feature and content updates, ahead of a multiplatform release targeting PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Mowin’ & Throwin’ is out now via Steam Early Access, priced at $19.99 / £15.49 / €16.79.
