Press release:
Brainwash Gang are today very happy and excited to announce that their award-winning indie game “The Longest road on Earth” has just landed on Kickstarter (“The Longest road on Earth” is said to launch for PC in December next year).
Brewing coffee in the morning. Letting time go by at your porch while staring at the trees. Serving customers at your café. There is a certain beauty in everyday moments such as these — the poetry of quotidian life, when time seems to stand still in brief glimpses of eternity.
The Longest Road on Earth, currently seeking funds on Kickstarter, thrives to capture them in a lyric story about a lifetime of customs and daily rituals. This poetic experience recently won the Best Basque Game Award in the FS Play International Contest for indie games of the Fun & Serious Games Festival.
Spanish developers edU Verz, Mohammed Bakir and songwriter Beícoli (from Brainwash Gang) along with Arturo Monedero (former dev at Delirium Studios) have gathered to create an intimate story about life itself.
A black & white piece of pixel art where players will walk with its characters, accompanying them in their journey through life, looking for beauty and purpose in the common actions that constitute our daily routines — such as gathering a bouquet of flowers, turning the lights on every morning or having a cup of coffee in your porch.
The Longest Road on Earth is an episodic narrative experience now seeking funding at Kickstarter. With 20 days to go and a goal of $10,000, the game already managed to collect more than 46% of its goal.
“We wanted to tell a story based on the everyday life of a person. The player has to fill in the gaps of the story. An old lady sitting in a porch and a young guy looking through a window in a coffee shop tell us different things (though they might be thinking about the same thing). In the end, if we remove the epic side of our lives… how would they look like? What would people think of ourselves?”
