Press release:
15 03 2023.
Fiction Factory Games, makers of Arcade Spirits, have announced their upcoming game, “Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain“. Set to release later this year, the game takes you on a journey through a world filled with heroes, villains, masks and capes.
In Penny Larceny, players take on the role of a voice inside the head of a master thief who must navigate a criminal underworld via a new app named Crimr designed to make it easier for villains to contract minions. The player will influence the decisions of Penny Larceny – leading to a wide range of outcomes – will Penny rule the world? or will they save it? It’s up to you!
The game features a diverse cast of companions, villains and heroes, from your cybernetically enhanced feline companion to mad scientists and a computer designed to HATE, whose stories and experiences will allow you to uncover the conspiracies and schemes of the world’s elite.
“The goal was to create a game which is welcoming to everyone,” said Stefan Gagne of Fiction Factory Games.
“In ‘Penny Larceny,’ players can choose to romance or befriend characters of any gender and orientation. No matter how you like to play, we’re there to support it.”
This exciting announcement comes hot on the heels of Fiction Factory Games receiving a nomination for “Game of the Year” at the Gayming Awards for their game Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers!
In addition to its LGBT-friendly approach, “Penny Larceny” is also a satirical take on the gig economy and modern life. Players will need to use their wits and cunning to outsmart their rivals, all while navigating a world of deception and danger. With multiple branching paths and endings, the game encourages players to replay and experiment with different choices, providing new experiences in different playthroughs.
“Accessibility was also a key consideration for us,” added Stefan.
“We’ve made sure that the game is easy to pick up and play, with a wide range of disability support options. This is a story for everyone to enjoy!”
The game is expected to come out on Steam later this year.
