Press release:
14 August 2019 – The upcoming digital travel experience “Wanderlust: Travel Stories” will now release Thursday 26th September for PC via Steam, publisher Walkabout Games today announced.

Combining their seasoned knowledge of narrative design and their love of travel, ex-Witcher developers Artur Ganszyniec and Jacek Brzeziński are collaborating on this story-driven exploration game that sees players accompany a diverse group of travellers on the journeys that changed their lives.

Regarding the change, co-founder Brzeziński said “After many discussions with our publisher, in order to deliver the quality expected by both players and us, we feel that we need a little bit more time to polish the game and make it a perfect digital travel experience. We apologize for the small delay.”

With the added time-frame, developer Different Tales will be rigorously testing the interactive narrative system of Wanderlust, as well as ensuring the game will run as intended on both PC & Mac, as well as iOS.

When reflecting on Wanderlust’s announcement, Ganszyniec said“As we started presenting Wanderlust Travel Stories, we noticed that it was very received also by people who do not think of themselves as gamers.

This might be a sign that interactive media can find their way into the mainstream culture, becoming in time just another way of telling stories about common human experiences.

We hope that by experiencing the stories told by Wanderlust, by seeing the world from another point of view.”

Wanderlust: Travel Stories will release on September 26th on PC & Mac via Steam, and will also be available on iOS.

About Different Tales
Different Tales is a storytelling studio exploring the idea of slow gaming.

Over the last dozen years, Different Tales have worked on fantasy franchises with a cult following, mobile games for the mass market, failed artistic experiments, critically acclaimed products about killing people, prototypes that just didn’t work out, and suffered the ups and downs leading to the inevitable burnout—the whole package of the fast-paced game industry.

Now, they are ready to tell other stories. Stories rooted in the common human experience. Stories that you discover at your own pace. Stories with the potential to bring about change.

Co-founded by The Witcher head story designer Artur Ganszyniec and project lead Jacek Brzeziński (The Witcher, Hitman, Dying Light), the studio is currently finishing work on Wanderlust: Travel Stories, its debut game.
