Press release:
April 28th, Gliwice, Poland.
Publisher Destructive Creations and developer Invader Studios are proud to announce the release of the console versions of “Daymare: 1998“, the successful classic survival horror game that recreates the look and feel of beloved works from the 90’s and plunges players into a familiar yet fresh story.
With backtracking, ammo management, collectible lore items, environmental puzzles and gut-twisting challenges, players can rewind a couple of decades back into a terrifying daymare.
Initially formed to create a fan-based remake of the famous Resident Evil 2, the development team at Invader Studios marks another significant milestone with the console release of their original IP DAYMARE: 1998, bringing the game to a new audience of survival horror fans who missed out on the PC release.
Slipgate Ironworks Studios was a valuable partner in the porting process and helped bring the game to consoles.
A faithful homage to survival horror classics and the era of the 90s, DAYMARE: 1998’s atmosphere, storyline, characters, classic gameplay mechanics and difficulty, and Easter eggs all blend together to create an experience that fans of the original masterpieces of the genre will appreciate.
Release at Retail
Both the retail and digital versions of DAYMARE: 1998 will launch in Europe today. Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the North American physical launch will be postponed until June 16, 2020. Customers eager to receive their physical copy can already pre-order DAYMARE: 1998 Black Edition.
The collectible DAYMARE: 1998 Black Edition contains a set of character postcards, with images and info about the three main characters, a set of logo stickers, as well as an exclusive set of logo pins at selected retailers only, all contained in a distinctive slipcase.

ABOUT DAYMARE: 1998:
Daymare: 1998 is a third-person survival horror game with hardcore survival mechanics and unyielding enemies. It requires a strategic approach to combat and puzzles and offers a multi-character perspective of the story, revealing deep and obscure lore.
The scene is set with a secret research facility, a deadly chemical weapon, and a special security team tasked with investigating an incident that has the potential to become more than a routine security breach.
Follow the steps of an elite soldier, a helicopter pilot, and a forest ranger as they play out their roles in an event that transforms one peaceful small town into a dead zone and its citizens into bloodthirsty monsters.
Take the creatures down first, and then look for any clues or evidence that you can piece together to make sense of the chaos. Keep track of your inventory, as resources will be scarce! Anything can happen when your daymares become real.
DAYMARE: 1998 MAIN FEATURES:
Multi-character POV – see the story from different angles and discover the truth;
Fearsome enemies – rendered in detail with lifelike animations and dismemberment;
Realistic HUD – check your inventory, health, and the position of a given piece of equipment;
