Zuripai Games “Paizuri University“ follows the comedic adventures of Bill, who’s studying a photography course at Oat Pi University (which, according to him, isn’t the best – but it will do nonetheless).
With that said, once the game kicks-off, Bill’s day doesn’t get off to a good start…You see, he has a rather lewd dream whilst in class, which results in him being sent to see the Dean (for “destroying desks”) , and subsequently getting drugged, at which point a life-changing decision has to be made, with further decisions needed later on down the road too.
After that, it appears that Bill’s dream comes true – in more ways than one, when you are introduced to Kareen. From then on, life at University gets very complicated…One of the unique features of this game is the ability to define how you would like to censor the sexual innuendo. This ranges from no censoring at all, to being starred out. Then there are the funnier options ranging from Parkour (going to do some slips later) to Computer (“I’ll be formatting my D: drive later).
The only slight problem with this is it doesn’t always make the sentence read properly, although you always get meaning behind it all. The best choice, is, of course, computer-related innuendo – nothing funnier than talking about 4K monitors.
As a visual story, it is very funny and integrering (there’s even a twist to be found later on in the game as well). Some of the English (outside the user-defined innuendo) can be a bit odd with duplicated words and grammatical errors, but on the whole it’s well written. You certainly get to know characters very well, and the use of choices certainly seems to affect the story.
There can also be some adventuring parts (you get the choice to do them or not at the start of a new game), of which the first is where you have to bust open a door with your D: Drive – which of course everyone has done at least once in their life. Graphically overall, the game is nice and colorful, and of course lewd. I mean, the game’s backgrounds are nicely detailed and all that
However, the game’s characters though are somewhat more simplistic. Whilst they fit in well with everything, a bit more detail (and a few more poses) would be nice. The sex scenes are animated, although again, are somewhat simplistic, both graphically and in the animation, but it’s certainly a nice change to see non-static scenes.
During this section, there are a few sound effects too, to bring a bit of realism to the mix. As you go through the game, you also get lots of lewd pictures for the CG Gallery which can be… admired…later on. In other words, there should be more than one reason for you (the players) to return to “Paizuri University” *cough cough*
Anyways, I think you get the idea. So here’s my closing words for my review of “Paizuri University”. I’m aware that game is far from completed (I have played through the whole demo), and that there are flaws to be found here and there. Even so, “Paizuri University” is still a very funny and well-made +18 lewd visual novel. Furthermore, there’s also one hell of a twist to be found in “Paizuri University”.
Simply put, if you like lewd content, humor and visual novel games. Then look no further than “Paizuri University” (you can play the “Paizuri university” prologue and chapter 1-3 for free via Gamejolt and itch.io).
+ Very funny story
+ Graphics are nice
+ Sex scenes are animated
+ Nice music, although looped
– A bit more character detail would be good, and some of the characters look a bit odd in the cut scenes
– Some grammatical errors here and there
Sound and music: 4/5
Replay value: 3/5
Paizuri University is a very funny and lewd visual novel with an interesting twist. Sure, the graphics certainly aren’t bad, and it makes a nice change to see animated sex scenes, although they aren’t quite up to the standard of something like Divine Arms. Nevertheless, the game is still well worth giving a try.
