I was not quite sure what I could (or should) expect from Team 17´s and Skybound Entertainment´s 8-bit pixel strategy game “The Escapists: The Walking Dead” (especially since I haven´t played “The Escapists” before.”), I mean, I have seen quite a few gameplay trailers in the past. However, I had no idea that The Escapists: TWD would turn out to be such a deep game. As I thought that the game would be rather simple in terms of depth. Well, I was wrong. As there are tons of stuff that you can do in The Escapists: TWD. And from what I’ve seen so far, the game is true to the TWD universe (characters, events, etc.). I should point out that some events have been skipped (or fast forwarded) in The Escapists: TWD.
So what about the pros and cons of the game then?. Well, so far I truly like the 8-bit retro graphics. The soundtrack is really good, the action parts are top notch, and the controls are smooth and simple. The cons would be that The Escapists: TWD isn’t all that scary, and some people might find the game to be too cartoonish. Nevertheless, i´m enjoying the game so far. In fact, I recorded part II for The Escapists: TWD earlier today. So “hopefully” I will be able to uploaded in the next couple of days.
With that said, please enjoy part 1 of The Escapists: The Walking Dead =)
