Yes, that’s right. It’s finally time for our second lewd game review (don’t forget to check out our “Sakura Gamer” review!, which just happens to be our first lewd game review). This time, however, I did not play a lewd visual novel, but a +18 lewd fantasy RTS/kingdom management RPG (there are some visual novel elements to it though). Yep, you guessed it. I’m of course referring to Superhippo Games F2P browser game “Crystal Maidens” (don’t miss out on our “Crystal Maidens” interview with Superhippo Games!).

“Crystal Maidens” is a pretty darn fun, addicting and impressive fantasy strategy RPG (there are even some visual novel and kingdom management elements to be found throughout the game). Especially since it’s a F2P browser game (you can playthrough the whole game without spending any real money, it’s just going to take a longer time to do so).

Well, right off the bat. “Crystal Maidens” has been improved quite a bit since the first time I played the game (which I did back in December of last year). For example, new maidens and content have been added to the game, and it also seems like “Crystal Maidens” has become more balanced and polished since the last time I booted up the game (which I did in January of this year).

At the time of writing this review, there are currently 30 different maidens to be found in “Crystal Maidens” (some of them can only be yours via special events, such as Christmas or Halloween events, for example).

I for one do recall server connectivity issues, and sadly enough, that was something which killed off the joy of the game (kind of like all the server problems that Blizzard had in the wake of the “Diablo 3” launch back in 2012). However, that problem has now been sorted out thanks to the latest server update. Well, at least I haven’t experienced any server connection problems so far.

The art, design, characters and graphics are very well-made in “Crystal Maidens” (just the artwork and visual novel parts alone makes the game worthy of a try).

Anyways, I think you get the idea. So let’s move on to the actual game itself shall we? As I was saying, it’s very easy to get going with “Crystal Maidens”. You just log in via the game’s Nutaku page, then you’re pretty much good to go, because “Crystal Maidens” is not by any means a complicated game. Furthermore, most of the really important stuff gets explained to you at the very start of the game (it’s done in tutorial kind of way).

Believe it or not, but you can actually get down and dirty with all the maidens of “Crystal Maidens”. So that alone works as a mini-game of sorts, because there are quite a few maidens to be had in the game. Especially since new maidens are being added on the fly to “Crystal Maidens”.

So that means that everyone should be able to understand the basic aspects of the game in the matter of just a couple of minutes, then the fun begins (feed me them lewds, my mind and body is ready!). You see, in “Crystal Maidens” you get to experience a harem-like situation. As of a matter of fact, this is the actual story for “Crystal Maidens”:

“The world of the Crystal Maidens has been invaded by a powerful wizard that subjugates and controls young maidens to do its bidding. When your ship is sunk in the war against this dark force, you end up shipwrecked on a strange island with a mysterious portal. With the help of magical crystals, you must summon a harem of beautiful maidens to fight back this evil and liberate the maidens of the world!”

There is a handful of +18 lewd scenes that you can unlock for each maiden in the game. However, you will only be able to do so if you charm or flirt enough with the said maiden (or maidens), otherwise there will be no sexy time for you.

Simply put, you end up in a heaven-like scenario. As you play as a male who gets washed up on an island full of sexy, beautiful and willing females (yes, you can get laid with them all). As awesome as that is though, what really impressed me the most with “Crystal Maidens” is the fact that the game managed to be a mix of so many things (in this case, genres) without ending up being an unplayable mess.

The battle aspects of “Crystal Maidens” is pretty uncomplicated and straight forward. You simple drag and drop your characters onto the battlefield, then you take it from there (it takes less than five minutes to figure the game’s battle system out).

I mean, not only is “Crystal Maidens” a fantasy RTS/RPG, but there are kingdom management and visual novel elements to be found in the game as well. So I’m honestly very surprised with how well every aspect of the game works, and since that’s the case. It also helps makes sure that you never get bored with the game, and speaking of which.

“Crystal Maidens” is what happens when you mix “DOTA”, “Clash of Clans”, “Magic the Gathering” with +18 lewd content.

I’ll have you know that there are so many things to do in “Crystal Maidens” (you can build your own kingdom, fight battles, experience sexy time moments with sexy maidens, bug gear, upgrade your maidens and much more!), that the game should keep you occupied for many hours, days and weeks to come.

So, all in all, there are a lot more pros than cons to be found in “Crystal Maidens” (the three biggest cons of the game would be 1. If you don’t want to spend real money in the game, then things are going to take a long time to get done 2. Some battles are way too easy to win and 3. At times, you have to wait a bit before you can fight again). That’s also why I would recommend everyone who likes lewd content, RPG, RTS, visual novel and kingdom management games to give “Crystal Maidens” a try.

Pros:
+ Topnotch artwork, design and graphics
+ Tons of hot maidens to get down and dirty with
+ The lewd content is right on target (top quality lewds!)
+ Well-made characters and dialogs
+ A huge world to explore
+ Easy and simple controls
+ Plenty of different campaigns and quests to complete
+ Fun boss battles
+ Interesting and beautiful visual novel-like dialogs/scenes
+ No battle is the same, and there are a lot of them
+ There is a handful of different buildings that you can build
+ You can upgrade and level up your maidens
+ Easy to pick up, learn and play, but hard to master
+ Free-to-play

Cons:
– On the higher levels it takes a bit longer to build your buildings (you have to be patient)
– The battle aspects of the game took a little while to get used to
– Some battles are way too easy to win
– Sometimes you have to wait a bit before you can fight another battle
– The game may be F2P, but there are real money spending aspects

Not in a million years did I ever think that I would get to play and enjoy a F2P browser game that is a great mix of +18 lewd content, RPG, fantasy strategy and kingdom management (there are even visual novel elements to it!). Well, that just happens to be the case with Superhippo Games “Crystal Maidens”. So if you like lewd games, RPG, RTS, fantasy, visual novels and kingdom management. Then this is the game for you with no doubt!
