Get your counting and adding skills up with “Hexologic”. Placing numbers in hexagon blocks counting numbers up along a line to reach the number associated with that line. There are a total of 60 levels with a decent number of hidden levels, touch/click on the yellow hexagons that appear on the level select screen to open them up, leading to a few extra hard levels at the end.
As the levels go up so does the difficulty, in most cases that is. There are sections that are easier than the ones before them, at least some of them were for me. Nevertheless, while moving up eventually you will hit a place where there are color match hexagons and whatever is placed in one of them appears in both hexagons.
With a light and airy tone of the music, “Hexologic” is a game where you just want to kick your shoes off and relax to it. Falling into the rhythm of how the game is played, each level seems to just melt past one after the other, quickly finding that every level is suddenly gone.
At least this is how it was for me, finding the end and getting through the hidden levels. It was just far too short for my liking. However, then again, I may just be odd and puzzles like this are second nature. Even so, I still had a blast with “Hexologic” for as long as the game lasted. As a matter of fact. I enjoyed the game so much that I hope that MythicOwl will take their time to make a “Hexologic 2”. Well, time will tell.
Anyways, if you like puzzle games (and in particular Sudoku-like puzzle games), then “Hexologic” should fit you just fine on the Nintendo Switch console.
Pros:
+ Very relaxing
+ Excellent music
+ Some levels are very difficult
Cons:
– The game is far too short
Gameplay: 3/5
Graphics: 3/5
Sound/music: 5/5
Controls: 3/5
Replayability: 5/5
Story: 3/5
Verdict: 4/5
Just sit back, let the music relax you, as you just go through one puzzle after another. Yes, nothing is too complicated beyond one’s ability to count and place numbers to make everything line up. So if you enjoy games like Sudoku, then this game would be right up your alley, and if this is the case, then you might also find the game far too short. Nevertheless, you will still have a blast with Hexologic for as long as the game lasts.
