“NEKO-NIN exHeart 2” is, quite obviously, the sequel to “Neko-nin exHeart 1” and continues just after where the first title left off.  After an initial fight between the protagonists allies and some mysterious ninjas, one of the latter ends up suffering amnesia after falling off a roof.

neko nin exheart 2 maya

Maya (she’s a bunny-eared ninja)is very naive and innocent. Furthermore, she also thinks that she’s a cat.

Instead of allowing the amnesiac to be kept prisoner (and not really trusting his allies anyway), the protagonist agrees to take the ninja in. There only two problems: The ninja is a rabbit who thinks it’s a cat, and the protagonist’s home is already occupied by two cat ninjas, who most certainly do not appreciate having a new member joining them.

neko nin exheart 2 nachi

Saiha and Nachi from the +PLUS DLCs are also to be found in “NEKO-NIN exHeart 2” (as seen in the picture, Nachi is offering moral support to the player).

This sequel is a bit more serious than the first one. So when the rabbit is initially caught. It is so shaken that the protagonists wonders whether it was treated badly…And at the end, one of the protagonist allies wonders (as he’s been collecting so many cat ninjas) whether or not he’s going to start a war, and if he does, whether he can be stopped.

neko nin exheart 2 yura and tama

Both Yura and Tama like to cook up daft schemes.

However, despite the serious undertones,  “NEKO-NIN exHeart 2” is still very funny – with most of the humour in how the protagonist’s cats treat the newcomer and how she gradually gets used to living amongst a couple of animals that may want to eat her…For those new to the series, there is a quick recap of what has happened previously.

neko nin exheart 2 aya and saiha

Aya/Saiha is back, and she’s as indifferent to everything as usual.

Over the course of the story, a fair few things happen, mostly involving food or the cats competitiveness for head pats, or trying to devise a scheme to win more affection.  The main antagonist arrives on the scene about half-way through the game, and is introduced in a very sympathetic way.

neko nin exheart 2 sexy babes

The 18+ DLC gives you nice lewd scenes as this one to enjoy :3 (sexy cat and bunny babes, what more can you ask for?).

This antagonist takes it upon herself to rid the protagonist of his cats, resulting in a brutal (but funny) competition, which she wins…  Sort of…All the usual characters are back, including Tama, Yura and Aya/Saiha. Unlike the previous episode, you only get one choice this time, which leads to slightly different sections of the story. It doesn’t affect the ending in any way though.

neko-nin exheart 2 sexy time moment

The sexy time scenes are on point. Sadly enough though, they are pixilated :S

The protagonist is still a bit of an idiot, especially regarding what rabbits eat, but he is also generally more aware that the organization that he has joined may employ methods which he doesn’t agree with. It is also shown that his home life may not be as good as it was, with his mother now no longer visiting and his father nowhere to be seen.

neko-nin exheart 2 sexy bath time

“NEKO-NIN exHeart 2” offers lovely graphics, beautiful artworks an awesome soundtrack, plenty of sexy females and nice visual novel elements. However, the game is very short, and the main protagonist (Haruki) might get on your nerves as his a bit of an idiot.

In addition to that, he has to find enough money to feed some perpetually hungry cats. The ending itself is nicely done, and of course solves all the current problems, although it also sets up a possible further sequel with the mention of a further seven cats that may arrive. Anyways, let’s get down to my final words on this game shall we?

neko-nin exheart 2 sexual healing

The characters themselves have great personalities, and the exHeart 2’s fight scenes are very well done.

So, to summarize everything. “NEKO-NIN exHeart 2” is with no doubt a must play for fans of the first game (or people who like lewd visual novel games in general), as you get even more of the content that you enjoyed from the previous title (plus tons of new stuff as well).

So even though “NEKO-NIN exHeart 2” is a pretty short game, it’s still a great, cute and sexy visual novel with no doubt.

Pros:
+ Lovely graphics, although the animation for some of the characters is limited
+ The game’s characters have great personalities
+ The music is appropriate
+ The scene with the banana is very funny
+ Fight scenes are well done
+ Has a recap episode
+ The game offers full Japanese voice acting

Cons:
– Very short
– Only one option, which doesn’t really affect the story
– The protagonist can be a bit of an idiot

Gameplay: 3/5
Graphics: 4/5
Sound and music: 3/5
Controls: 4/5
Replay value: 2/5
Story: 4/5

tgg grade 4 out of 5

Verdict: 4/5
NEKO-NIN exHeart 2 is a pretty short visual novel, and it may appear a bit over-priced for what you get. However, it is both touching and funny, with lovely graphics, and well worth playing. Simply put, NEKO-NIN exHeart 2 is most definitely worth getting if you’re into lewd content and visual novels (you might want to wait until the price drops though).
