I don’t think that I have mentioned it before, but I have used the Roccat Kave XTD headset for almost two years time now. So it was about time that I upgraded to a new headset. Especially since I actually got the headset from my brother Jonas, whom had already been using the headset for quite a while before he gave it to me. Anyways, I got the chance to try out Roccat’s Khan Pro Gaming headset, and I’ve been using it one week straight now.
So, right off the bat. The first thing that I noticed is that the Khan Pro headset is much more comfortable than any of the previous headsets that I have used. For example, the Razer Kraken 7.1 headset was so uncomfortable to wear that I could only use it for a very short period of time (I mainly used that headset to record gameplay videos in the past, and most of the time I could only record 20-40 minute long videos at a time. Because the headset hurt my ears and head so bad that I couldn’t hide my suffering while recording my videos).
Well, I think you get the idea. So, as I was saying, I did not experience any problems of that kind with the Khan Pro headset. In the matter of fact, I could easily wear the headset for hours without feeling uncomfortable in any way whatsoever.
However, I have to admit that I wish that the Khan Pro had used the same cable as the Roccat Kave XTD headset did. You see, the Khan Pro headset uses the kind of cable that tends to get all messed up (the cable surface is made of some kind of fabric that gets the cable all winded up).
Other than that though, it would have been nice if you could have removed the microphone from the headset if you wanted to, but you can’t. I also found the light-weight design to look somewhat cheapish (the headset only weights 230g).
However, I would still like to point out that the headset is very robust. So don’t get fooled by the design, because this headset won’t break that easy (the headset is made out of hard plastic and iron).
And last but not least, the sound, music and Gaming performance is on point. Because the sound is crystal clear.
So I had no problems with hearing everything there is while playing games such as “Brutal Doom“, “Cuphead“, “Overwatch” to “CSGO”. Furthermore, the headset works really great with music and movies as well.
So, all in all, the Khan Pro headset is most definitely one of the best headsets that I have used so far (I jump back and forth between my Khan Pro and Hyper X headset at the moment).
In other words, if you’re looking for a all-around great headset that works like a charm for everything from Gaming, music to movies, then look no further than the Khan Pro.
Pros:
+ The headset is very comfortable to use
+ The audio and sound quality is pretty darn good
+ The microphone quality is really good
+ Works with Xbox One, PS4, PC and smartphones
+ The headset is very light (it only weights 230g!)
+ You can adjust the headset to fit your head perfectly
+ The anti-noise feature works like a charm
+ HD sound
Cons:
– You can’t detach the microphone from the headset
– The headset cable tends to get all messed up due to its fabric-like surface
– The 100 USD (or 89,99) price tag might be a huge turn off for some people
– The lightweight construction feels somewhat cheap
– The adapter for consoles, laptops and smartphones leaves out a lot in terms of audio quality
Sound quality: 4/5
Mic quality: 4/5
Comfort: 5/5
Design: 4/5
Technology: 4/5
Verdict: 4/5
Even though the Khan Pro Gaming headset is far from flawless (it’s design is with no doubt it’s biggest down side), it’s still a really good headset (the sound and microphone quality is on point). So if you can get the Khan Pro headset at a good price, then go for it, you won’t regret it!
