It’s pretty insane that it’s been over a year since my last Gaming headset review (I reviewed the Roccat Khan Aimo Gaming headset back in March of 2018), but its all true I’m afraid.
Well, I’m going to change all of that here and now with my review of the Roccat Noz stereo Gaming headset 😉 And straight out of the gate, I got a good impression of the headset when I saw the box that the headset came with.
However, sadly enough, things went downhill rather quickly from there. You see, I’m used to using high-quality Gaming headsets such as the Roccat Khan Aimo and Turtle Beach Elite Atlas headset.
Simply put, I experienced a rather big drop in quality on all fronts pretty much. I mean, sure, the Noz gaming headset is a lot cheaper than the Khan Aimo headset for example (and that goes for everything from Gaming, movie production, listening to music to watching movies).
Even so, you could still find a better headset in the +50 or +60 USD price-range. Furthermore, the actual quality of the Noz Gaming headset (the build itself) didn’t exactly make matters better either as the whole headset feels and looks very fragile and plastic-like.
As a matter of fact, I just got this whole “it’s going to break down by just having me look at it” vibe from the Noz headset….And sadly enough, the bad news didn’t end there.
Why? Because I soon realized that the microphone and music quality wasn’t all that great either. So all in all, the Noz gaming headset was a rather mixed bag of an experience for me at least (maybe I’ve become too spoiled when it comes to Gaming headsets?).
So my best advice would be that you try the headset in your local retail store before you buy it, or that you at least wait until the price drops for the Noz headset.
Pros:
+ The headset is light and comfortable to wear.
+ The microphone is detachable.
+ The Noz can be used on a handful of different platforms.
+ The in-game sound is pretty darn good.
Cons:
– The build quality of the headset leaves a lot to desire (too much plastic and way too little metal).
– You can pick up a better headset for pretty much the same price from some of Roccat’s rivals.
– The audio curation is non-existing.
– The music quality is far from great.
– The microphone quality could have been a lot better.
Sound quality: 3/5
Mic quality: 3/5
Comfort: 4/5
Design: 3/5
Technology: 4/5
Verdict: 3/5
Since I’m used to using the Roccat Khan Aimo and Turtle Beach Elite Gaming headset I’m used to very high Gaming headset standards. Well, the Noz Gaming headset falls short on a lot of fronts I’m afraid.
Truth be told, the Noz Gaming headset leaves a lot to desire… And there are better options out there on the market. as well. In other words, unless you can’t get the Noz Gaming headset at a really good price, then you might want to pass on this one.
