Now, before I get into this review, I want to explain that Lewd games aren’t usually my cup of tea. In the matter of fact, this has to be the first Lewd game I’ve reviewed aside “Rabi-Ribi” (which was pretty tame in comparison). However, I do believe when it comes to video games, they don’t all need to be “inclusive,” and it’s completely fine to aim at a particular demographic that will enjoy the content on offer. I also will be leaving any personal politics at the door (where they should be left).

Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash” is a new addition to a long-running series of games from developer Marvelous games, this time the game is a 3rd person action shooter with bucket loads of Lewd content, huge bouncy breasts, bikinis and roster of attractive ladies who are all here for your entertainment. It’s been available for Japan for some time but has finally made way to the West exclusively for the PlayStation 4.

senran kagura peach beach splash babes

“Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash” is what happens when you mix “Splatoon”, hot babes with lewd content.

Peach Beach Splash actually has a reason for all these glamorous girls to get in their swimsuits and equip themselves with an arsenal of water pistols. Winter for some unknown reason has become incredibly warm, and the female shinobi have all been summoned to take part in a tournament by a mysterious person. It’s kinda like an X-rated “Mortal Kombat”, but rather than fighting to the death you splash each other, a lot.

The one caveat being, the Shinobi are not allowed to use Ninja arts, they can only use tournament permitted weaponry! The tournament is hosted by two flamboyant characters Mr. K and Miss R who provide a good dose of comedy in the game, and there are quite a few comical exchanges throughout as the characters poke fun and tease each other. It really sets the scene that you’re at some crazy event. It’s even hosted on a video service called NewTube (I wonder if their AdSense actually works?).

senran kagura peach beach splash collectable lewd cards

Collectable cards provide power ups and lovely artwork.

Gameplay in Peach Beach Splash is pretty good, to sum it up in a nutshell. It’s like a very adult “Splatoon”. Two teams face off against each other in a variety of modes such as team battle, Queen of the hills, Squirmy showdown (I’ll get to that later) and capture the bra all of which can be played in single player or online in 5vs5 matches. You can then customize your character with a specific weapon and battle cards which can be earned as you play. There’s several story modes for you to battle through as well as challenge maps where you can face off hordes of enemies or individuals.

Squirmy finishers are a special way of completely humiliating your opponent, when you downed an enemy you can then finish them off with a “Squirmy finish”, similar to what you’ve seen in games like Gears of War instead of brutally decapitating someone, you enter into a first person view of your opponent and then you can literally spray off any remaining clothing you deem fit to remove, Bra or panties it’s up to you, you can’t get more humiliating than that, of course while there’s no nudity but it’s left up to your imagination.

You and your opponent’s characters clothes will take damage from high-powered water guns.

As mentioned earlier, there are battle cards that can be collected as your play through the game and there’re hundreds of them to collect, each with their own rarity and artwork featuring the various in-game characters as well as mascot creatures that can help you out in battle. Once you’ve collected enough you can then power up your favorite cards which in turn increases their abilities or damage output, you can even customize your deck to make you more effective in the field of battle.

Visuals in PBS are at a great standard. The characters for all intents and purposes look awesome. The level design is visually pleasing thanks to the bright colours and varied areas such as a pirate ship or beach like locations making you feel sad that winter is almost upon us. The game is also completely voiced in Japanese, and the characters’ personalities really shone through. You can even choose which character that gets the pleasure to do the voice announcements in the menus! The menus themselves are also easy to navigate, and the in-game music is top-notch too!

senran kagura peach beach splash diorma mode

In Diorma mode, you can create a variety of stills like this one.

There’re a few extra modes available to play through in the menu, aside the campaign you can try your hand at the challenge levels or the tournament mode. So if you fancy a break from the battlefield you can also hit the dressing rooms. Then this is where you can dress up (or down) your characters with a wide variety of under garments and costumes. Furthermore, you can then use the Diorama mode to display your ladies in a variety of stances, then share your creations online. Finally, for those who want to get even closer, you can go into “intimacy mode”. To be blunt, this where you can grope your ladies, slap their boobs around and spray them with water, eventually you’ll somehow charm them into a kiss, make of that what you will.

senran kagura peach beach splash character roster

The character roster is a rather big one, so there should be something for everyone *cough cough*

PBS doesn’t really have many downsides, if anything the short and frequent loading screens can be a little bit boring. Once thing that did stand out was the in-game shop, items are incredibly expensive and after beating one of the campaigns my credits didn’t really get me far, a new hairstyle cost 1500 credits! Of course, this is where microtransactions come into play, (they’re literally everywhere these days) so it’s down to you, either grind for hours for content or pay an extra dollar for it, it’s a bit of a kick in the teeth because it’s going to take an awfully long time to finish that card collection!

All in all though,Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash” is an rather unusual game. So while I am a completely new to these kinds of games, there is fun to be had here. In the matter of fact,  the game is crazier than a road lizard! And the game knows this, and doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. I mean, spraying clothes off your opposition has to be one of the craziest mechanics I’ve come across in a game but hell the gameplay holds up and there’s certainly fun to be had here.  There’s a good amount of content here to keep people coming back and collecting all of the cards is very addictive. So if you’re looking for a game packed full of lewd content with zero censorship, then you can’t go wrong here Peach Beach Splash!
