Wednesday, July 17th, 2019 – Today, Benjamin Archard, Elena Nikolova, Goichi “SUDA51” Suda, Hiromi Ishikawa, Carina Calvert, Tero Virtala and Eric Jacobus have been announced to join this year’s edition of the gamescom game developer event.

devcom 2019 already boasts a roster of legendary speakers, such as Cristian Pana, Noah Falstein and Pia Jacqmart. The event is taking place in Cologne/Germany on August 18 and 19.

Extending the event’s fantastic line-up, Rendering Programmer at 4A Games Ltd. Benjamin Archard will talk about ray tracing in Metro: Exodus. Snapshot Games’ 3D and VFX Animator Elena Nikolova will cover the topic of animating creatures with body mutations in Phoenix Point.

A further highlight at devcom will be the talk of Goichi “SUDA51” Suda, CEO and Game Designer at Grasshopper Manufacture and responsible for titles such as No More Heroes, killer7 and Lollipop Chainsaw.

Himself and Hiromi Ishikawa, Chairman at Vantan Game Academy in Japan, will speak about the collaboration of Vantan Game Academy and the Vigamus Foundation.

As Community Liaison at Playground Games (Forza Horizon 4), Carina Calvert will share her insights on community-driven game development. Tero Virtala, CEO at Remedy Games, will hold his speech on new developments within his well-known studio and the transformation it is currently undergoing.

Having worked on the motion capture of Kratos, eight characters from Mortal Kombat 11, and Marvel’s The Avengers, SuperAlloy Interactive’s Eric Jacobus will illustrate the specifics of physical storytelling in regards to action and combat choreography, as well as live combat motion capture.
