I got some very good news to share with all you Pokémon fans out there, well, at least if you live in Europe. Anyways, Nintendo Sweden (Bergsala AB) just informed us that the Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition console is coming to EU on the 26th of January:
“On January 26, 2018, the New Nintendo 2DS XL Pikachu Edition will be released in Europe. In addition to the hardware released, same day, the classic game Pokémon Crystal, partly in a limited boxed version * and at Nintendo eShop.
Pokémon Crystal had its first release in Japan 17 years ago and it was the first Pokémon game where players could choose if they wanted to play as a guy or girl. The release released on January 26 will be compatible with Pokémon Bank and players will have the opportunity to meet on the mythical Pokémon Celebi after playing through the adventure. In the original version, players could only get Celebi through a special accessory. You will also be able to use features like Link Trades and Link Battles.
* In the boxed Pokémon Crystal version, a download code is in place of a playing card.” – Nintendo via Twitter
That’s freaking awesome with no doubt =) However, there is no release date for North America just yet (I’m sorry!)…Fair not though, because we shall keep our eyes and ears open for any potential information about the release in NA. It’s also worth pointing out that “Pokémon Crystal” is coming to the Nintendo eShop on the 26th of January as well (partly in a limited boxed version). So don’t miss out on that one!
