It´s been about one week since Eight Points and HypeTrain Digital released their plot-driven survival co-op game “The Wild Eight” for PC via Steam (the game dropped on Steam on the 8th of February). So as you might imagine, Eight Points has been hard at work with patching the game (thus the v.0.3.4 patch). Furthermore, I just received the following information from HypeTrain Digital:
“Hey, Robin!
One week has passed since the release of The Wild Eight, it was positively welcomed by people all over the world and was called a very polished Early Access title. We´re happy that our game has already gathered loyal and amazing people who formed the community!
New stuff implemented thanks to the feedback:
– Easy Mode
– Huge multiplayer fix
– New in-game music
– New start locations
– Game Wiki
Players loved RPG elements and the brutal setting that they´ve been put in. Never before has the word “Survival” been as important as it is now. With all the feedback gathered throughout the week, we decided to add the Easy Mode (it should be already live) to have more casual players interested and broaden the audience.
However not only that has captivated them in the harsh land of Alaska. The game was praised for unique visuals, immersive sounds and music, and mysteries that are going to develop over the course of frequent updates.
Well-known streamers have been playing this game – Lirik, BurkeBlack, Dodger(Dexbonus) and many more! HypeTrain Digital really liked the experience with YouTubers and Twtichers and we would like to work with them even more from now on.
In the end we can say that the launch was a success! The Wild Eight will get only better with updates and we will continue to support the game and community as long as it will be needed.
We thought that we have learned a lot during the development of the game, but now we are actually learning much more thanks to the community. But that´s not all, besides tweaking the gameplay and fixing rare bugs, a lot of new stuff is coming to The Wild Eight, stay tuned.”
In other words, the players really love “The Wild Eight” =) That´s also why I will do my very best to review the game as soon as possible (I was given a Steam review code not so long ago). As for here and now though, you could always watch my pre-alpha demo gameplay video for “The Wild Eight”.
