Press release:
Finnish developer Kukouri today introduces the first major update to their highly social sandbox online multiplayer game, Pixel Worlds, where players create their own worlds using hundreds of different building blocks and materials. The update introduces the pet aka familiar system, which has been one of the most requested and anticipated game features since Pixel Worlds soft launch on mobile platforms last year.
The familiar system allows players to acquire, grow and evolve four types of creatures: Bunny, Bird, Gremlin and Robot. When ‘equipped’, familiars will follow the player within and across other worlds and when fed will evolve through distinct family tree stages. As the economy in Pixel Worlds is completely run by players themselves, players face several options to take advantage of the newly introduced familiar system. Producing different food types as well as acquiring special devices for feeding and evolving takes a lot of time and effort, thus players have an opportunity to farm and sell food blocks; sell or lease their feeding devices, or specialise in growing and selling familiars altogether.
Going all out with social media integration into the game experience, Kukouri fosters constantly-increasing Pixel Worlds’ community by not only playing the game daily themselves and interacting with players, but also by arranging weekly streams on Youtube, Twitch and Mobcrush, as well as promoting user and influencer videos in-game as a part of their Influencer Program. Pixel Worlds has it’s own Youtube channel with over a million views and the game’s official Instagram account has been growing 20% weekly compared to the average growth rate of 6-8%.
