New Delhi, India – September 19th, 2017 – NASSCOM Gaming Forum today announced the first wave of speakers for the NASSCOM Game Developer Conference 2017, India’s biggest video games development conference. The conference keynote will be presented by Amit Hardi, CEO of India’s Nukebox Studios, the studio behind the biggest hit from India in recent times, Food Truck Chef, which generated more than 3 million downloads in its first 10 days and made $500,000 revenue in its first 45 days. Amit will share the journey of his studio which junked 15 games before coming up with Food Truck Chef, painstakingly built and polished over 18 months.
Alex Schwarz, from virtual reality pioneers, Owlchemy Labs, will give a post-mortem talk on the critically acclaimed virtual reality game Job Simulator and Electronic Arts’ Lauren Freeman will discuss ‘Game Industry Trends and the Impact of External development.’ Additionally, Keyword Studios’ Mathieu Lachance will present ‘Are you ready for the future? A look inside VR from a video game’ and Facebook’s Ravi Belwal, Head of South East Asia and India for Games Partnerships, who will talk about the opportunities within the Facebook Games Platform for developers. Additional speakers added to the line-up include Lawrence Valleti (King) and Yuli Zhao (Yoozoo).

NGDC 2017 has this year partnered with Unity Technologies to bring their developer conference ‘Unite’ to India for the first time, which will run side by side with NGDC. Both the conferences take place at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, from November 8th – 10th, with training workshops on November 11th.
NGDC 2017 will feature international and domestic speakers, dedicated tracks focused on games design, publishing/advertising, game art and technology, production and serious games. With an Games Expo floor featuring Indian games, several international country pavilions and a virtual reality pavilion, NGDC 2017 is shaping up to be the biggest showcase of Indian games development and business talent, and the ‘go to’ event for international participants looking at opportunities in the India marketplace. The NGDC 2017 awards will also recognise achievements in Indian games development and encourage the creation of original innovative IP in India. Curated networking events include investor and publisher pitch sessions that will give Indian games developers the opportunity to meet with investors, publishers and business executives.
Unite India will be the most important gathering of regional artists, developers, publishers, training providers and enthusiasts interested in Unity, the market leading platform for creating video games, simulations and other interactive and VR/AR content.
