Ten years and 2+ million sales later, lightning has struck twice! “Teslagrad 2“, the long-awaited sequel to indie hit “Teslagrad” will be in players’ hands for the first time with a demo at Steam Next Fest: 2023 (Feb. 6-13).

To celebrate the announcement, publisher Modus Games and developer Rain Games are proud to unveil the still-hot-from-the-oven official key art of the stunning new title.

“Teslagrad 2” will be launching this spring on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

“I have spent these last years of development dreaming of magnetic powers and steampunk Vikings,” said Peter Wingaard Meldahl, CEO of Rain Games and the lead on the project. “I am very happy with Teslagrad 2 as a sequel and am excited for players to get their hands on it this coming month!”

Fans of the Teslagrad universe will regain the familiar feeling of wonder and glee at the satisfying traversal and world at display, but they are sure to be surprised, as well. After a decade of new thoughts, ideas and lessons Rain has acquired since the release of the original title, the world has grown and changed, making the game as accessible to new players as to returning.

“Teslagrad 2” stars Lumina, a hero known to players familiar with Rain’s earlier title World to the West. We last saw her on an airship traveling home, and “Teslagrad 2” picks up after she is shot down in an uncharted land. Lumina’s journey will see her harness the forgotten art of Teslamancy: wielding electromagnetic abilities to solve perplexing physics-based puzzles as she explores winding caves and industrial chambers, outwitting the mysterious enemies and traps awaiting her.

The game’s hand-drawn visuals use pastels and muted tones to bring vistas of untamed nature to life, as well as steampunk visions of Old Europe inspired by Scandinavian culture and folklore. Lumina’s command of Teslamancy makes traversing Teslagrad 2’s somber environments feel exhilarating and empowering, allowing players to manipulate realistic physics and unique powers to overcome obstacles and survive surreal dangers.
