Press release:
London, United Kingdom – August 16th – Curve Digital and Perfectly Paranormal’s eccentric behavioural comedy Manual Samuel is now available on the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Manual Samuel follows the exploits of Samuel, an arrogant trust-fundee who’s never had to work a day in his life. This all changes one fateful day when he finds himself hit by a car and Death offers him the chance to stay alive under one condition: Samuel must make it through a single day having to manually manage even the most instinctive tasks.

Players will have to deliberately manage Samuel’s walking, blinking, exhaling and inhaling in order to guide this hilariously hapless human through an exciting day. 24 hours of getting dressed, drinking coffee, going to work and navigating whatever hijinks ensue for a person incapable of peeing without the deepest of concentration and ninja-like reflexes!

Manual Samuel features multiple game modes, including a Time-Attack high-score challenge and a Co-Op mode, in which two players collaborate to guide Samuel through the worst day of his life. The Nintendo Switch version of Manual Samuel will offer split Joy-Con support for local multiplayer, Accelerometer use and also – for Switch users only – exclusive digital comics about Death’s everyday struggles.

To commemorate Manual Samuel’s Switch launch, Perfectly Paranormal have released an all new trailer that teases the studio’s next game, Helheim Hassle. This narrative-based platforming adventure puts players in the role of Bjørn, a pacifist Viking that can detach and combine limbs at will to solve challenging puzzles and get out of uncomfortable situations involving desperate Norse gods, goblins, dragons, wild animals and angry horsemen.

This will be the second title in Perfectly Paranormal’s planned Tuesday Trilogy. Each release will tell its own story with its unique cast of characters, but all will be set on the same day. During the Tuesday Trilogy we will get the following answers: Why does War seem so tired? Why is Satan so angry? Where are the rest of the horsemen? Can Famine really do a frontside kickflip?

Why are the robots from Robocorp able to see Death? What is all that weird stuff in Robocorps Storage room? Where did Satan suddenly get a sword?

“We’re thrilled for Nintendo Switch players to finally get their hands on Manual Samuel,” said Perfectly Paranormal Director, Ozan Drøsdal. “The portable form factor and detachable Joy-Con controllers make it easier than ever for players to share the joy of controlling Samuel (manually) with a friend.”

“Manual Samuel represents a collection of gaming’s finest physical comedy” said Jakub ”Koobs” Klitenik, Product Manager at Curve Digital.
