Kyoto, Japan. 24th May 2018 – Today VITEI Backroom announced the release date for the Steam version of their recent title, Paper Valley. Previously an Oculus exclusive, Paper Valley immerses players in a lush green world of mystery, filled with crumbling monuments, and an unspoken narrative inspired by the works of ThatGameCompany. Now both HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift owners on Steam will be able to experience the world of Paper Valley on June 6th.
Paper Valley tasks players with bringing this world back to life by using VIVE controllers or Oculus Touch to throw, curl, and glide paper planes into targets. With each successful throw, you add colour and life to the world. Skillful throws bring beauty back to the environments and unlock the hidden secrets of the valley, tapping into ancient forces to unveil the truth held within the ruins.
Paper Valley will be priced at £9.99 / $12.99 / €12,99 on Steam. This price will also be reflected on the Oculus Store and both stores will have a special launch week discount of 15% off!
The Steam release of Paper Valley will also include the option to purchase the soundtrack either as part of a bundle or separately. This is priced at £11.99 / $14.99 / €14,99 as a bundle or £1.99 / $2.99 / €2,99 separately. Composed by VITEI Backroom’s own Alex May, the soundtrack draws influences from 90’s ambient electronica, and was inspired by artists from the early days of sampling technology such as The Future Sound of London. It was created using all 90’s Japanese hardware synthesisers, sampled and sequenced in Renoise, a tracker style sequencer.
Winner of the Famitsu Media Highlight Award at BitSummit in Kyoto, Japan 2017, Paper Valley will take players on a zen-like adventure in a curiously picturesque world from June 6th, on Steam.
