Highly-anticipated dungeon crawler hits Steam and Nintendo Switch with funky electronic/orchestral hybrid soundtrack by Dale North.

SAN DIEGO – May 16, 2018 – Scarlet Moon Records is pleased to present the WIZARD OF LEGEND Original Soundtrack composed by Dale North. This fast-paced dungeon crawler was released on Steam and Nintendo Switch yesterday, putting a powerful and flashy arsenal of magical spells into the hands of young wizards everywhere as they attempt to overcome the Chaos Trials. North’s funky electronic/orchestral hybrid soundtrack accentuates the action in style, from the epic title track to the signature elemental themes. “Wizard of Legend’s fast play style and design calls back to my favorite era of gaming, which was during the Sega Saturn’s heyday,” explains composer Dale North. “I channeled my love of the sound of those games by building a soundscape based around my collection of synthesizers from the 1990s and recording them the old way: manually analog, and layer by layer. And then in line with Wizard of Legend’s dazzling spells and chain attacks, I wrote high-tempo, soaring orchestral backings to support the synthesizers, aiming for a blend that would be both exciting and memorable.”

Wizard of Legend is a fast-paced dungeon crawler with an emphasis on dynamic magical combat. Quick movement and even quicker use of spells will allows players to chain spells together to unleash devastating combinations against their enemies. About Dale North
Dale North is a composer, arranger, and orchestrator for videogames, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a multi-instrumentalist (piano, vocal, brass), performer, and singer-songwriter with an international training, he brings a unique voice to videogame music.

Dale’s music mixes traditional instrumentation with vintage colors, blending live pianos and orchestral tones with the synthesizers and sound sets that shaped the sounds of games from the Super Nintendo and PlayStation eras. His upbringing in Tokyo, Japan helped shape his melodic sense (and his love of synthesizers), and he continues to hold the traditions of game music in the highest regard.

Dale looks forward to working on projects that favor creativity and seek to honor game music’s rich heritage. He also really, really likes Welsh Corgis. Dale North is represented by Scarlet Moon Artists.
