Press release:
AUGUST 16 2022.
The Mountain View-based (California, the US) indie games developer PleasingFungus Games (Nicholas Feinberg), are today super happy and thrilled to announce that their charming constructive puzzle game “Manufactoria 2022” is now available for PC via Steam!
Manufactoria 2022 is an endearing logic based puzzle game in which players will build assembly lines that churn out high-quality robots while tossing defective bots into the incinerator (don’t worry, they’re programmed not to feel pain). How puzzles are solved is entirely up to the player’s ingenuity, but some solutions are more efficient than others.
Starting out in a small garage, players will advance through the game by creating increasingly complex assembly lines in order to ensure the best bot quality, moving from garage-based startup to a thriving robotics enterprise! As the company grows, a cast of colorful characters will join the player to assist with boring non-robotic tasks like marketing and finance, leaving players free to focus on the important things in life (building robots, in case that wasn’t clear).
Players will be able to access an intuitive toolkit of machine blocks like conveyor belts that move robots along a set path and binary yes/no blocks to move bots in the right direction. Manufactoria 2022 is a game that anyone can play and enjoy, but poses a challenge to dedicated players who want to find the most efficient solutions and become a master manufacturer in the online leaderboards.
With over 100 puzzles to solve, and endless ways to solve them, Manufactoria 2022 promises a charming experience of optimization, replayability, and rather cute robots.
Fans of logic-based games like Zachtronics’ titles, 7 Billion Humans and Shapes.io will enjoy Manufactoria 2022’s approach to puzzle solving, straightforward tools used in increasingly efficient and creative ways to gracefully solve more and more complicated puzzles!
Following a very positively-received spell in Early Access, PleasingFungus Games has made the final few tweaks to polish the game to perfection. Now, the full version of Manufactoria 2022 is finally ready to make its way into the Steam libraries of optimization enthusiasts everywhere.
Nicholas Feinberg, Founder of PleasingFungus Games said:
“I’ve been working on Manufactoria 2022 for just about three years now, but it’s been over a dozen years since I started making these kinds of open-ended puzzle games.
Over that time, the thing that’s kept me fascinated by these games is the special way they both challenge players and encourage a sense of creativity and playfulness – your solutions to levels are really yours, not something that I planned for you in advance. I’ve been continually surprised and delighted by what players have come up with, and I can’t wait to see what new things they build after launch!”
Manufactoria 2022 is available now on PC via Steam, priced $19.99 / €16.79 / £15.49. Interested players can wishlist the game now.
About Manufactoria 2022
A really smart engineer can build robots that do just about everything. Are there any problems that more robots can’t solve? You’ll find out!
From the creator of Silicon Zeroes and the original Manufactoria, Manufactoria 2022 is a new open-ended puzzle game. Build assembly lines that push robots around and rewrite their strangely paper-based brains. Figure out which robots will work, and send the rest straight into the slagheap!
Manufactoria has more than a hundred puzzles, but just eight different types of machine to place. How complicated could these robots possibly get?
Getting assembly lines working at all is hard enough. If you’re looking for more challenge, though, it’s time to make your solutions faster, more compact, more elegant. Get gold medals! Beat your friends, and then make fun of em! Compete for global leaderboards!
Go from a garage robotics startup to a booming megabusiness. Work with a colorful cast of characters to inflict your creations on an unsuspecting world. It’s gonna be a blast!
About PleasingFungus Games
Nicholas Feinberg launched PleasingFungus Games in his college dorm room in 2010. His hope was that games which were fun for him to make would be fun for other people to play. So far, so good!
