“The Touhou Empires“, the real-time strategy Touhou fan game from developer Neetpia and publisher Phoenixx based in the community-driven Touhou universe beloved by millions of fans, plots a battle plan onto Steam for PC in Q1 2024.

Play the demo (previously only available at conventions) during the Steam Strategy Fest from Monday, August 28 to Monday, September 4, 2023. Go hands-on with The Touhou Empires at the Phoenixx booth (#3119) at PAX West.

The next addition to the expansive Touhou universe pits fan favorite factions against each other in fast-paced tactical gameplay. Study the enemy, strategize a plan of attack and take over the mystical world of Gensokyo – the entire Touhou realm! Gather resources, construct a mighty fortress and form an unstoppable army. Enlist the help of cherished Touhou heroes with game-changing special abilities.

Over 30 Touhou Characters!

Call upon more than 30 beloved Touhou characters including Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame then cast their powerful spell cards to turn the tide of battle. Journey through 20 stages in the story campaign on a quest to discover the source of Gensokyo’s turmoil.eud against factions online with multiplayer skirmishes toting up to six players at once in free-for-all and 3v3 team battles.

Pick From Favorite Factions

Rule Gensokyo with an iron fist! Choose from various Touhou factions with different play styles, and capitalize on distinct advantages while preparing a battle plan to exploit enemy weaknesses. Prioritize a powerful early game army with the Scarlet Devil Mansion, or turtle up and form an impenetrable defense with the advanced structures of the Hakurei Shrine.

Master an Army of Diverse Strengths

Manage both macro and micro dynamics on the battlefield, considering the pros and cons of each unit type to raise an army capable of countering opponents’ strengths. Call for speed and attack power with fighters on horseback, and best the cavalry with spear-toting footsoldiers. Rain death from afar with long-ranged archers, or enlist the help of spell-casting grimoires to to cast area-of-effect spells against warring foes.

Fend off the fairy onslaught to save Gensokyo! Select from more than a dozen Touhou characters, and use spell cards to freeze, fry, blast and blow away approaching adversaries. Strategically place traps to slow down encroaching enemies, and join forces with friends online for a co-op shoot-em-up tower defense experience.
