While November 2015’s Nintendo Direct announced release dates for upcoming games as well as update information for recently released titles, there were a few new games featured for early next year. One of these titles are “Final Fantasy Explorers”, a multiplayer co-op game similar to “The Crystal Chronicles saga” with newer features. However, the foremost mentioned feature for FF Explorers is the customization ability for your character. For example, a character can wear a variety of gear and as with previous Final Fantasy games that feature a job system, skills can be mixed and matched to the player’s play style. Up to four players can play online and locally to accomplish quests and for lone wolfs there’s a feature of taming monsters to fight alongside them.

“Final Fantasy Explorers” is a multiplayer co-op game for 3DS (it´s set for a release on the 26th of January next year).
A major feature in the game is the Trance ability. Unlike Trance from the classic game Final Fantasy IX where a character will ascend to a powerful state and have a new skill setup (such as Zidane’s Dyne command menu and Vivi’s Double Black Spell casting), this ability will allow the player character to into a classic character from the previous games. These characters include Squall of “Final Fantasy VIII”, Lightning of “Final Fantasy XIII”, and Tifa and Cloud of “Final Fantasy VII”. Furthermore, making an appearance is the eidolons from the franchise, including Shiva, Ifrit, and Bahamut, whom can be fought and summoned in the game.
While Square-Enix is localizing Final Fantasy Explorers for an early 2016 release date on January 26, there is one character that couldn’t wait to bust out some damage:
Cloud Strife is coming back as a fighter, not for Dissidia, Playstation Allstars, or the second coming of Ehrgeiz, but for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U. Not only is Cloud in the game but also the dystopian city of Midgar will be a stage up for download along with him. Cloud’s character model will include both his HD classic outfit and his Advent Children cloak get-up, complete with Buster Swords. He can summon an eidolon to battle and use his Limit Breaks during the match. He brings quite a few Limit Breaks with him, including Braver, Cross Slash, Blade Beam, Climhazzard, and, as his Final Smash, Omnislash. God Bless The Ring indeed.
Final Fantasy Explorers will be released as a Standard and Collector’s Edition coming January 26, 2016 and more Super Smash Bros. news will come in the Special Broadcast coming this December.
