Barcelona, Spain – May 27th, 2024.
The Barcelona-based (Spain) indie games publisher Abylight Studios and indie games developer Abylight Barcelona (the award-winning studio behind “One Military Camp”), today announced with great happiness and excitement that they have just released a playable demo for their upcoming mythical city building/strategy game “CITADELUM” (the said demo is available right now for PC via Steam EA).

“The time has come to play Citadelum, a strategy and city building game set in Ancient Rome, with a mythological touch.

We want to offer you an early access to the Citadelum demo, with which you can try the first levels of the game developed by Abylight Barcelona, after two years of work and an intense research work. Build your settlement, make it evolve, explore the territory, trade, conquer and visit the pantheon of the gods.

The Citadelum demo offers the first levels of the game, in which you can familiarize yourself with the main mechanics, meet some of the characters that will accompany you on this mission, and enjoy the setting in the late Republican era and the beginning of the Roman Empire.” – Abylight Studios.

Contents of the demo

This demo includes the first 2 missions of Citadelum, in which you can experience the following mechanics: construction and accommodation for plebeians, patricians and soldiers, fires and maintenance. It also includes labor management, water extraction and distribution, resource gathering, market and trade routes. It allows to reach Prestige up to level IV, explore the map, establish taxes, watch over the health and entertainment of the population. Finally, it includes religion, and shows the beginning of the combats.

Remember Citadelum is still work in progress. And there are some things we will show later, such as the historical setting, city defense, new biomes, trading routes, map exploration and battles with your mighty legions. This demo will be updated with improvements and corrections.
