Burton-on-Trent, UK – 14th August 2024. Publisher Playtonic Friends and developer Knight Shift Games are excited to finally announce that Elsie, the thrilling rogue-like action platformer will blast onto PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch on September 10th, 2024!

Join protagonist Elsie as she blasts her way through a stunning neo-retro world filled with procedurally generated levels where legions of deadly robots stand between you and discovering the truth of the disasters plaguing your home planet. Search for The Guardians, a team of high-tech androids created to protect civilians, who have mysteriously disappeared and hold the key to returning balance to Planet Ekis.

To celebrate Elsie’s release date announcement, Playtonic Friends has commissioned renowned animator David Liu (https://x.com/AngryangryD) to create an action-packed animated trailer to get pulses pumping ahead of the game’s September launch! If that’s not enough to get your gaming neurons firing, then how about a new theme song recorded and performed for the trailer by fan favourite anime and video game voice actor Elsie Lovelock (@ElsieLovelock), who is also the voice of Elsie!

About Elsie
Elsie is a neo-retro, hyperkinetic, rogue-like action platformer filled with procedurally generated levels and an army of robots to blast through.

After an attack on the City of Neotoño, Dr. Grey takes refuge in a beachside bastion known as the Sapir Wharf.

Here, she creates Elsie: an android given a mission to uncover the mystery behind the attack and save planet Ekis from the disasters that have plagued it.

Players must dash, dive, and shoot their way through stages filled with dynamic enemies and intense boss fights, all while performing perfectly timed precision parrying. In this roguelike rollercoaster players will die and die and die again – but you’ll always get back on your feet to embrace the chaos.
