The Seattle-based (the US) indie games developer CATINRAIN LLC today announced with great joy and excitement that their casual airline management game “Puffin Planes“, is coming to PC via Steam on September 4th, 2024.

Rich mechanics support an addictive gameplay loop, making this game sure to satisfy both management veterans and novices.

Welcome Aboard
As the CEO of a new airline, it’s up to you to keep your airline afloat and the board of directors happy. Receive quarterly goals and fulfill them before the deadline, or fail to do so and be fired for failing your responsibilities! Upon meeting or exceeding their expectations, the board of directors will graciously provide investments for you to choose from, so pick the right rewards to ensure you can continue expanding the airline and keep your job. Spread your reach and take over Earth or look towards new challenges like operating on Mars.

Puffin Planes is a new airline management game welcoming both experts and those new to the transportation management genre. With a simple gameplay loop featuring a host of customization possibilities, this game will provide endless entertainment as you work to bring your airline company to new heights. Intuitive charts and tables will ensure you’re on top of your goals. Check how your routes and hubs are performing, monitor your income and expense numbers, and manage your airline’s reputation from the game’s main hub. Upgrade your airplanes and airports, and even establish company policies to align with your visionary goals.

Meet quarterly goals and keep the board of directors happy in Classic Mode to hold your place as CEO.

Make the right choices while expanding your fleet, unlocking new cities, and coordinating your flight routes to avoid scaling too fast and risking flight incidents.

Create the airline of your dreams by upgrading your airplanes, hubs, and company policies to align with your brand.

Play with others in multiplayer, competing to expand the fastest or collaborate on a global network.

Customize each playthrough with modifiers for a fresh new experience by changing your starting airport, the inflation rate, and more.

Set your own pace through the additional Freeplay and Creative game modes, which remove quarterly goals for a more sandbox experience.

Experience a fun twist to the game by playing upside down or on a habitable, terraformed Mars.

CATINRAIN LLC is a one-man band based out of Seattle, WA. As a teenager, the developer was obsessed with 4X, management, and transportation genres. He found a passion in programming and later pursued a degree in computer science. Combining his love for games with his passion for programming, the idea for Puffin Planes was born last summer during the developer’s time living in a cramped extended-stay hotel.
