25 November, 2025. Coffee Moth Games is excited to announce that Neon Overdrive is out now on Steam VR, with a limited-time 20% launch discount. The game requires a Meta Quest VR headset to play. Neon Overdrive will launch on the Meta store soon.

Inspired by the chrome-drenched sci-fi heroes, arcades, and synth-heavy soundtracks of the 1980s, Neon Overdrive is a fast-paced, procedurally generated roguelike VR shooter, throwing players into an explosive battle against legions of Exo Bots. With seven unlockable character classes, unique abilities, dynamic builds, and over 40 perks to mix and match, every run becomes a new, synth-powered power fantasy.

A full-blown VR arcade shooter built for 80s hearts

Neon Overdrive started as a tribute to the sci-fi classics that shaped a generation, think Terminator, RoboCop, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and evolved into a standalone VR experience bursting with personality. Coffee Moth Games fills the world with cheeky references, satirical nods to megacorporations, and plenty of easter eggs that 80s fans will instantly recognise.

The game features a soundtrack powered by licensed music from Jeremiah Kane’s album All or Nothing combined with original tracks by the developers, blending thumping synthwave, shredding guitar, and arcade-era energy. It’s designed to keep players in the zone while bullets fly, sparks burst, and neon burns.
