Press release:
Thursday, 26th March 2026, Prague, Czechia — ICARUS: Console Edition, the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 version of Dean Hall’s (DayZ) extraterrestrial PvE, sci-fi survival game, launches today, publisher GRIP Studios, part of the GRIP Digital family, has today announced.

Taking players solo – or in teams of up to four – to the eponymous planet, ICARUS: Console Edition unleashes a uniquely challenging experience for brave ‘prospectors’ looking to find their fortune. As they explore alien landscapes scarred by humanity’s failed attempt at terraforming, players will have to extract its valuable exotic resources while surviving the planet’s savage fauna, flora, and the very deadly skies above, before braving an escape back into safe orbit.

Available now in two editions, Standard (USD$39.99) and Ultimate (USD$139.99), ICARUS: Console Edition includes the New Frontiers Expansion, doubling the size of the game world to 128km2 and bringing with it six new biomes not included in the base game. Its region of Prometheus, far deadlier than anything else seen before on Icarus, ramps up the challenge further, with indigenous wildlife clamouring to overwhelm any prospector looking to extract its riches. It also harbours a conspiracy in the shadows, with a string of six missions threatening to reveal the secrets of the corporation that tried to make the planet a second Earth…

The Ultimate version of ICARUS: Console Edition includes a significant collection of downloadable content that’s also available to buy separately, such as the Styx Expansion (which adds the Styx region, 23 new missions, and new creatures), cosmetic packs such as the Art Deco and Industrial Furniture packs, six further outposts, and the First Cohort Envirosuit.

ICARUS: Console Edition features:

An alien planet that fights back: Every element of Icarus resists humanity’s presence, with flora, fauna, and even the planet’s atmosphere, trying to drive players back into orbit.

Explore solo or in a party: Up to four players can drop onto the hostile alien world of Icarus, and strive to survive in the ultimate, uncompromising PvE experience.

Two massive maps to explore: ICARUS: Console Edition includes the base game plus the New Frontiers expansion from the start, giving players 128km2 of terrain to conquer.

Compelling progression and rewards: Begin with basic gear and advance to sophisticated tech, forge permanent upgrades with exotic matter, and master the arts of hunting, building, fishing, and survival.

New frontiers, new deadly threats: Discover new maps, mutated creatures, rideable mounts, and untapped resources on the Prometheus region in the New Frontiers Expansion.

ICARUS: Console Edition launches today on Xbox Series consoles and PlayStation 5.
